i finally smartened up this year and hired someone to clear our driveway .
it stopped snowing during monday morning and he came about noon and had the driveway cleared in about 20 minutes . since the city plows had the entrance nicely packed with snow , i probably would still be shovelling or be in the casualty ward !
even old dogs can still learn Laughing

Ice here, lots of it. The worst part of the commute is stepping from our sidewalk to the street. It's a lot of snow (Monday it was above my knees, now it's better in terms of height, which means it's mainly just compacted ice) and then there are cars and the speed limit is not the greatest. I've fallen already this winter and have a lovely swollen left knee and don't want a matching one on the right, so I walk in the street a lot. Not fun, not fun at all.

Jeez - you people live in extreme climates!

I'll stop grizzling about the rain, then!

can't vouch for everyone, but i do this only to avoid unshovelled/untreated/icy sidewalks...

Well I have traded a snow shoverl for an umbrella. The weather has been absolutely beautiful today. In the 70's.

I'm organizing my snorkeling equipment and am going to take a run up to Kona tomorrow and catch some rays.

Be thinnking about you Very Happy

Well, if we're going to taunt these poor shivering people...

It was 81 and sunny here this afternoon. Lots of people are complaining about how it doesn't feel like Christmas. Rolling Eyes Most have lived here all their lives. They have no idea what they're missing.

I call Christmas," Twinkie Light Time in the Tropics". And I am still amazed how some people go all out in doing decorations here. There's just something missing. SNOW.

I'm looking out the window at the Warrens' house across the street.

Their shrubs are strung with colored lights and over all is a cottony cloak
of snow that the lights shine through.

I can smell a wood fire. It's pine.

We're headed into our fourth consecutive weekend storm. Rain first, changing over to snow Saturday night.

L.L. Bean is my bootmaker; I shall not freeze.
He maketh me to stroll in white snow drifts:
He leadeth me beside the unshoveled.
He lineth with Thinsulate: he leadeth me
In the paths of Stoneham as though in Freeport.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of bizzards,
I will fear no evil: for thou hath shod me;
Thy outersoles and innersoles they comfort me.
