There are still openings for the Hawaii Meet.
And then more snow sat/sun. And, oh!, more snow next week! Wheee! Just so long as it doesn't stay as cold as last winter!
as long as the airport is open on tuesday, all is just dandy.
Tuesday should be the only day this week that'll be good.
(sigh), I suppose I should go shovel my car out.......
Now? I'm waiting until tomorrow, even if it is more torturous.
Is Monday bad? I am supposed to be out of here at 6:25 am. on United to LAX/SFO/HILO. I don't know if I can handle this.
Where are you going Dag?
Slappy, now would be best, but I'll be waiting until tomorrow morning too.

Home home, Seaglass, for almost 3 weeks!

Can I go? I want to go to Prague. I can speak the language. Jagsemash, Jenk-qui!(my spelling version). Dammit, I used to know a few more too, other than what I learned from Borat. And I don't need the language to conjure dirty looks from women.

Good for you Dag. Have a blast (and I don't mean wintery).
Oh and mucho Merry Christmas.
Its been 37 here too ya know...
Degrees celcius.

Gaaaah
Streets are plowed, including the side street between here and el bus stop. Hence I'm going to work this AM. As for Monday, heh, that may or may not be happening.
8.4" definitely seems to be the right total; people were up to their calves and shins in snow. I had shoveled when I got home and by the time RP arrived it was as if I hadn't done a damned thing.
I checked an online forecast for Boston for Monday and it's supposed to be clear. But this being Boston who knows. I've got a air reservation for Hawaii, but will be in touch with my carrier today.
Merry still looks a little shell shocked after being stuck in traffic. Thank the powers that be that Boston schools are closed today.
My sympathies that you have to go out in this mess Jespah. Keep your feets dry.
I just saw a forecast for an additional 1 to 2 FEET of snow for the Boston area with the next system.
Some more love from the Weather Channel:
Quote:A significant winter storm has begun to organize over the southern Plains, and will be moving toward the Northeast through the weekend. This will bring heavy snow and sleet, freezing rain, heavy rain and possible flooding, thunderstorms and wind to parts of the Eastern States.
This storm has already dumped some heavy snow across Kansas, with between 6 and 12 inches being reported late Friday, into early Saturday. Heavy snow will continue to spread northeast, into the Midwest today.
This will impact areas along and north of the Interstate 70 corridor, from Kansas City and St. Louis, through Indianapolis to Detroit, where 5 to 10 inches of snow, locally more over the Lower Great Lakes, will fall through tonight.
A wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain will also advance across the Midwest, primarily impacting the Ohio River Valley, including areas from Louisville, through Cincinnati, to Pittsburgh. Some accumulations of snow and ice will be possible, before a changeover to rain occurs later today.
Heavy rain and thunderstorms will also move across the Lower Mississippi River Valley, impacting areas from Houston and Little Rock, through Memphis and Birmingham. Heavy rain will also advance across the Tennessee Valley, into Kentucky and West Virginia, where 1 to 3 inches of rain may fall, resulting in some flooding.
Some remnant moisture from Tropical Storm Olga will also be pulled into the Southeastern States, bringing some locally heavy rain to parts of Florida, into the extreme Southeast. This could bring an inch of rain the Tallahassee, Jacksonville, and Savannah areas.
There is an outside change of a strong to severe thunderstorms along the Gulf Coast, including areas from Houston to New Orleans today, and across the Florida, into the coastal Carolinas overnight.
Into tonight, the winter storm will move toward the Northeastern States. Precipitation will overspread all of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Energy will transfer to a new low pressure off the Northeast Coast, which will deepen and intensify precipitation and winds over the region.
Freezing rain could bring significant icing to parts of mountains in the southern Mid-Atlantic, including southwest Virginia, and southern West Virginia, while heavy rain moves across areas north, including Baltimore and Washington, DC.
Snow will overspread all of the New England States, before mixing with sleet on Sunday. Several inches of snow and sleet could fall across the Northeast, including areas from Buffalo and Scranton, north through Burlington and Boston.
Coastal areas from New York City, to Philadelphia, will start off as a period of snow and ice, and then change over to rain, while a wintry mix over interior areas from Pittsburgh to Cleveland, to Cincinnati, changes back over to snow. Several inches could fall in these areas across the Upper Ohio River Valley.
With the deepening low pressure, winds will be on the increase over all of the Northeast, back into parts of the Midwest. In general, winds of 20 to 30 mph will be common, but gusts to 60 mph will impact parts of eastern New England, especially northern areas,
This storm system should exit the area by Sunday night, bringing an end to most precipitation.
Note this, too: Sunday high 36, low 18
Monday high 26, low 10
I suspect that what we're really going to get hammered with is ice.
