Well, I dunno if I smile or not, I always sorta hated Ditka when I followed football some, some years ago. Halas, George Halas, that was the name - I think - when I was first cognizant.

I was football mad in Minnesota when the Vikings were awful. Bears were nearby. Ditka, Walter Payton, Jim McMahon, Refrigerator Perry -- they were my guys.

(We are the Bears
shufflin' crew
shufflin' on down
doin' it for you
we're not bad
you know we're good
blowin' your minds
like you knew we would...)

soz is one of those people who jump on the current "fashionable" team -- the team that is at the top or nearing the top.

I expect sometimes a few weeks from now soz will be wandering around town clad in a Peyton Manning jersey.

I still like you though, soz.

This won't affect our friendship.

Everytime I saw a guy I remembered him (Mike Singletary!!) except for the kicker guy (#4) -- MAN was he pitiful! Laughing

Fashion my aunt fanny.

Gus, that was a touching scenario you described but is none the less fiction, after the game Blue will be poured not played.

Have a great week everybody, I am leaving for Cancun tomorrow and will be back Friday.

Thanks Osso, Chicago is predicting some of the coldest temps this winter next week, I picked the perfect time to go.

Some current temperatures from around A2K NFL land:
Chicago 12; Salmon 10; Milwaukee 21; Columbus 22; Albuquerque 34; Boston 35; New York City 39; Charlottesville 39; Houston 47.
I couldn't find temperatures for Mexico or Canada and there seems to no town in the US named Swamp.

Swamp is currently cold enough for spit to freeze before it hits the ground.

You have to remember that 10 above is really warm for this time of year in Salmon. We're pretty much basking in the balminess.

(why did checking in on this thread remind me that I've got a gift certificate for the liquor store burning a hole in my wallet?)

Harrumph - Wunderground says it's 54 here, not 34. But, outside my back door, it's 50 on the button.

-10 C. The formula for converting C to F involves multiplying by something and then dividing by something and then adding or subtracting 32.

The temp in your city, osso, which I limit myself to trying to spell no more than once a day, shows up on my screen as now being 39.

When I did my extensive research for this (well, 5 minutes max) I got numerous towns/cities named, for example, Columbus. But there appears to be only one Salmon.

Gift certificates at liquor stores? hmm. What if all of your kin and your co-workers gave you gift certificates at the liquor store? I mean, doesn't that say something?
