Colts over Chiefs I think.

Seahawks will beat" America's Team"

Pates will ground the Jetsies.

My gut says Eagles, but that's because I'm a long suffering Giants fan.

Okay. Last week, in the Stupid Wild Card games, all of the home teams won. So congratulations to Region and Cowdoc and Liontamer and Panzade.

Had there been only one winner I would have sent off my Terrell Owens bobble head doll, only slightly smarter than the real Terrell (Such a Nice Young Man) Owens. Watch what happen here next!

Okay, pay attention now to johnboy.

Pick the winners all the way to the end, the end I say, of the season.

Game (1): Indianapolis Colts @ Baltimore Ravens
Game (4): New England Patriots @ San Diego Chargers

Game (2): Philadelphia Eagles @ New Orleans Saints
Game (3): Seattle Seahawks @ Chicago Bears

Your first task is to predict the winners in those four games that will take place this weekend (1/13-1/14).

But, wait, there is more.

Before the start of the games this weekend, you must also predict who will prevail next weekend in the games between the winners of Games (1) and (4) and Games (2) and (3).

And then you must predict the winner of the Super Bowl Game itself. And Oh yes, just for a tiebreaker, suggest the total number of points the two teams will score..

Deadline is kick-off of the first game on Saturday.

Is this confusing?

Just to get this out of the way:

I have Baltimore beating Indy
and
San Diego getting by New England.

Philly barely slipping by New Orleans
and
Seattle whipping Chicago.

And then. I say and then...
Seattle gets by Philly and
San Diego romps over Baltimore.

And in the Sper Bowl: San Diego (with 52 total points scored)

Colts over Ravens.

Chargers will have a field day over the Pates

Saints will come marchin' over the Eagles.

Bears will come home with feathers in their teefusus. i.e. win.

Chargers will invoke the spirits of Keith Lincoln, and Lance Alworth, and defeat the ghost of the crewcut of Johnny Unitas.

Bears will make the big easy queasy.
(ain't no ghost of the fridge)

Chargers will set some sort of record in a Super Bowl, with Phillip Rivers, and LT.
(53)

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Okay, johnboy - the Oracle speaks.

San Diego is the class of the league. New England will be tough, but not enough to win in southern California. Steve McNair is the question mark against Indy. If he comes through, Baltimore could win. I think Freeney and company will be too much, though, and the Colt offense is finally ready to win outside the dome.

Philly would have a pretty decent chance against the Bears, but - unfortunately for them - they're in New Orleans, where they don't match up well at all against the Saints. Seattle was fortunate to get by Dallas. They won't do that well in Chicago.

That puts Indianapolis in San Diego next week, where Rivers and Tomlinson will prove to be too much for the Colts. New Orleans goes to Chicago, and finally prove that they can win outdoors. Actually, I think the Bears will prove that they can turn the ball over enough to lose.

The Chargers, as I said, are the class of the league.

San Diego 31, New Orleans 27.

(So you don't have to get your calculator, that's 58 points)

In the big one, the Chargers and . . .

definitely NOT the Seahawks. It's not that they won against the Cowboys, a middling team; it's that the Cowboys beat themselves on a botched field goal try. I don't see the Seahawks getting through the Bears. And if they do, either the Saints or the Eagles will take care of them afterwards.

The Chargers and the Saints or the Eagles.

The Chargers in about a forty-two point game.

Well, I'm not sure beyond two of the games coming up this weekend, but in the AFC:

Chargers over the Patriots

I'm not sure about the Colts and the Ravens, but the Chargers should be able to take either of them.

In the NFC:

Bears over the Seahawks

I'm not sure about the Saints and the Eagles, but after that, I think the Saints would be able to take the Bears. The Bears would be able to take the Eagles.

I'd rather see the Bears not go to the SuperBowl, than see them go and loose the game, and I don't think they'd be able to beat the Chargers.

I don't mean to be a nag, InfraBlue, particularly with someone I have just met. I didn't mention when I set this thing up that, at the suggestion of one of the players on the Regular Season NFL thread, I should award points based on correct picks. One idea was 3 points for every correct pick in this weekend's games and 4 for correct picks in next weekend's games and 7 for getting the Super Bowl winner.
I didn't bother to mention that when I posted the schedule, figuring that just the schedule was confusing enough.
So if you would, please guess the winners in all of the games. Thank you. -johnboy-
