Thank you, Walter. Happy holidays.
My very best wishes for you and your daughter Edgar.
Thanks, dys. Happiness to you and yours.
Wishing the best for Jean, Edgar. It's hard to believe that a continuation of dizzy spells from childhood through now would be caused by something so horrid as a brain tumor. Still, this is a terrible time of year to be worrying about such things.
Hopeful for a good report asap and less worries in the New Year.
You and Jean and your family will be in my thoughts, edgar.
And in ours, too. Hoping this resolves positively, and soon.
And -- because I love the name Jean -- and believe it or not, David Hasselhoff recorded a version of this song -- a quick musical interlude:
David Hasselhoff wrote:Jean, Jean, roses are red
All the leaves have gone green
And the clouds are so low
You can touch them, and so
Come out to the meadow, Jean
Jean, Jean, you're young and alive
Come out of your half-dreamed dream
And run, if you will, to the top of the hill
Open your arms, bonnie Jean
Till the sheep in the valley come home I don't wait
Till the stars fall around me and find me alone
When the sun comes a-singin'
I'll still be waiting
Jean, Jean, roses are red
And all of the leaves have gone green
And the clouds are so low
You can touch them, and so
Come into my arms, bonnie Jean
All the hills are ablaze with the moon's yellow haze
Come into my arms, bonnie Jean
I love the song, Jean, and the name also. Thank you, Jespah and Mac11 and Piffka. It's a blessed feeling to recieve the outpouring this thread has generated. May your days be merry and bright.
You know when I had my stroke and spend time in the hospital, what got the lady Diane through all that was the support she got from fellow friends on a2k.
I can believe it. The support given on a2k actually lasts through the years, not the spur of the moment.
I add my well-wishes to the groups'. Perhaps Dasha has some info, she's suffered from inner-ear problems for a long time.
Merry Christmas, littlek.
edgarb - I went through bouts of dizziness when I was about Jean's age. I went through the CT/MRI process, getting tested for a brain tumor, all that scary stuff. In the end I was diagnosed with a form of Meniere's, resulting from post-viral scar tissue development. Judicious use of antihistamines keeps things down to a dull roar when the weather is changeable, and I'm most likely to have episodes of vertigo/dizziness.
Hopefully Jean will have as mild a diagnosis, with fairly easy management.
We'll definitely be thinking of Jean at the hamburgers this weekend.
I'm very sorry to hear this edgar. Best wishes to your Jean. I sincerely hope her condition is not as serious as initially thought.
Thinking of you all with fingers crossed.
After nearly 30 years of doctors, they haven't yet diagnosed anything truly frightening. Hopefully, it will be as you described, ebeth. I am just grateful they are being more thorough this time around.
Merry Christmas, and thanks, to you and msolga.
Thinking of Jean, and you and Mrs. EB...
hope all is well with your daughter
here's a tune from warren zevon
Don't Let Us Get Sick
Warren Zevon
Don't let us get sick
Don't let us get old
Don't let us get stupid, all right?
Just make us be brave
And make us play nice
And let us be together tonight
The sky was on fire
When I walked to the mill
To take up the slack in the line
I thought of my friends
And the troubles they've had
To keep me from thinking of mine
Don't let us get sick
Don't let us get old
Don't let us get stupid, all right?
Just make us be brave
And make us play nice
And let us be together tonight
The moon has a face
And it smiles on the lake
And causes the ripples in Time
I'm lucky to be here
With someone I like
Who maketh my spirit to shine
Don't let us get sick
Don't let us get old
Don't let us get stupid, all right?
Just make us be brave
And make us play nice
And let us be together tonight
I am most sorry to hear this news, Edgar. My best wishes to Jean. You will be in my thoughts.
I just saw this post, edgarblythe, and truly hope whatever is wrong turns out to be easily manageable. Not knowing, not understanding is the worst.
A blessed Christmas to you all.
Have a wonderful Holiday, edgarblythe, and may the future be as bright as your wit.

Best of wishes to your daughter, eb.
I've had those dizzy spells, so has my wife, in different times of our lives. They're awful.
In both cases, we were diagnosed labyrinthitis: inner ear infection. In my wife's, a doctor scared the hell out of her (she has to keep her tyroid in tune), but she went for second and third opinions. So don't hesitate for the second opinion, and remember what my first son's pediatrician told me:
-"Don't trust us doctors so much, we sell protection just like gangsters do".
