Only if he watches to the exclusion of watching you.

Sorry, but guys like to look at naked women. It's our nature. And if you're not around to watch naked, well, nature will take it's course.

It's normal for most men (and many women) to watch some porn. It's not normal if he does it to the point that it interferes with his life and ignores you. There are many threads on this topic, you can either use the search feature or just look around in the Relationship forum.

blacksmithn and Green Witch are our two experts regarding porn issues and I would assume they will be along to answer your questions.

Oh...I'm sorry, I didn't notice that they had already shown.

Blueblah, be honest and tell him it makes you feel less important if he pays more attention to the porn than you. Let him know that you would prefer he would do his porn thing on his own time and not when you are together.

Porn is normal. If he watches it with you there. Get naked and walk in front of the tv. he will stop watching, especially if you wow him in other ways.

That would make me stop.

Ahem.

That is, if I were watching porn.

Which I'm not.

Really.

Never mind....

The next time your boyfriend leaves his computer for a glass of water, crawl on your hands and knees and kneel in front of the computer like this...

When he comes back into the room and see you in such a position, and then pushes you aside and continues watching his porn, well, then... you'd better come on over to my place.

Quickly.

Who agrees that porn is normal?

I'm sorry, I can't see it as being normal. Sex is a wonderful thing to
DO (I believe with your spouse.) This voyeurism which often develops
into an addiction should not be considered normal.

However, that's what the Porn industry wants you to believe so they can
keep raking in the big bucks!

The thing is, porn is different now, or at least access to it is different. It's never been so easy to get 24 hours a day, and without any embarrassment of going to the adult section at the video store or buying a magazine from a clerk at the gas station. That's changing the effect it has on people and their real-life relationships.

Marriage counselors and divorce attorneys are saying that porn has gone from rarely being a factor in marital problems, to being one of the biggest problems they're dealing with. I just read an article about this, I'll try to find it online.

I think some people maybe don't realize that men are starting to use porn differently than they used to-- it really is screwing up a growing number of mens' lives (and the lives of their loved ones). I've even read that young men who've grown up with the so-called "porn culture" are beginning to report that they're having problems functioning sexually in normal relationships; so I don't think the fears that women express about it are completely unfounded, or based solely on insecurity.

Oh, I found the article I was talking about. Here's the part about divorce lawyers:

Utne Reader wrote:
At the 2003 meeting of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, some two-thirds of attending lawyers said the Internet played a significant role in divorces that year, pointing a finger at online pornography. Seven or eight years ago pornography had an almost nonexistent role in divorce, reports author and journalist Pamela Paul in Time (Jan. 19, 2004). Keep in mind, legally married couples represent only a portion of the population. Jealousy, shame, mixed feelings, and mixed messages all speak to the difficulty of confronting evidence of desires we find in some combination confusing, elating, obscene, and terrific.

No way. Almost all men like porn and it makes no difference if they have partners. Stop worrying.
