[rl, I was going to try to make a point about your position on CP as it compares to abortion, but I think I'd rather just leave it alone.]

The word is spelled "dumber," c.i.

Or did you mean to say I'm a "drummer" lawyer than you could have imagined?

(BTW, did you learn anything during your sabbatical, c.i.? I thought we might see a kinder and gentler c.i. when you got back, less prone to leap to the personal attack.)

The spelling doesn't matter, ticomaya - since that's the only attack you can make on my post. It's small of you Mr lawyer.

I just think proper spelling is good form when you're trying to insult someone else's intelligence.

Oh, this is about intelligence, and you think misspelling is essential to it? You do live in a small world.

Back on point, c.i. ... I'm trying to nail down your thinking.

In support of your argument in favor of abortions, you say a "fetus" has no legal rights in this country and therefore a woman has the right to kill it. By saying that, you seem to be indicating that the law is the final word on the matter, and thus the abortion issue is not a matter worth discussing.

My point -- that would be the point you tried to obscure by quibbling about the number of states where the death penalty was legal -- is that sort of thinking could be applied by a fair-minded person to the capital punishment argument. In other words, where capital punishment is legal, the capital defendant will be put to death legally. End of story ... final word on the matter ... not a matter worth discussing.

Do you find fault in my analysis? (Or, do you just want to call me a dum lawyer, and leave it at that?)

This is exactly what is wrong with the pro-abortion argument.

What do their feelings have to do with it?

Either the unborn is, in fact, a living human being; or the unborn is not, in fact, a living human being.

Feelings are irrelevant in determining the personhood of the unborn.

What medical facts can you cite to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the unborn is NOT a living human being?

Would you accept a pro-capital punishment argument based on the feelings of one person?

'Well, I feel that he should die and the law should allow any individual who feels this way to execute him.'

What medical facts can you cite to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the unborn is a living human being?

That is why it is a moral issue - neither side can prove beyond a reasonable doubt. The majority who feel that a fetus is a human being stems from their religious beliefs, not any sort of medical or legal proof.

At what point does it stop being a foetus and becomes a baby?

Has anyone actually established when a fetus becomes a baby?

When it comes out of the womb; a legal definition at best.

ticomaya, FYI, a unborn baby is called a "fetus." A fetus has no legal rights in this country over the woman carrying it. Your play on semantics by you, a lawyer, only shows your inability and poor skills in arguing your POV.

I'm paraphrasing, of course. But go ahead and enlighten me: What did you intend to say there?

Since you're speaking on a public forum, I'm sure others are reading along. That would be "us." A "mouse" has nothing to do with this topic, you moron.

Your paraphrasing is wrong like most of your posts. That is my POV; no further explanation is needed - for most people. Show me where it's wrong.

Hey, ticomaya, Here's an interesting story for you to read and absorb. There's a lesson in it just for you!

Teen points BB pistol at the wrong car Thu Nov 2, 11:21 PM ET

A teenager pointed his BB pistol at the wrong car. The car stopped and the two men inside pulled out their real .40-caliber Glock handguns. They were undercover police driving an unmarked car.

They ordered Ryon Shelton, 15, of Cedar Rapids, to drop his gun, police said.

"They thought it was a real gun," police Lt. Kenneth Washburn said. "He dropped the gun and attempted to run and was apprehended."

Shelton told officers he was "just playing around" and trying to scare people during the Halloween night incident, police said.

He was cited for assault while displaying a dangerous weapon and released to relatives, police said.

So c.i. ... in your view, is it okay (read: "morally right") to kill a "fetus" the day before "it's" due to be born? Up until the moment it pops its head out into the world?

If you refuse to clarify your POV, I will continue to conclude it is this: "A "fetus" has no legal rights in this country and therefore a woman has the right to kill it right up until the moment it pops its little head out of the womb and takes its first breath."

I'm paraphrasing, of course. Feel free to clarify.

What's the lesson for me? Don't point BB guns at police?

Trying to follow your train of thought is a daunting process.

Paraphrase all you want; it only makes you look more foolish - which in of itself is an oxymoron. Even a parrot repeats more accurately than you. sheesh!
