Get it?

I agree. It is worthless. And what it implies is wrong.

MOST CHARITABLE STATES-RED OR BLUE?
By Michelle Malkin • November 10, 2004 08:46 AM Several readers have sent me this ranking of states by IQ, purporting to show that people in red states are dumber, on average, than people in blue states. Like a lot of what the Democrats have spewed this election cycle, the IQ chart-pushed most prominently by Bush-hater Howard Stern-is a hoax.

The Generosity Index, compiled by The Catalogue For Philanthropy, is for real. It is computed by taking each state's average income and average charitable contribution, then subtracting the second rank from the first to get a single number for each state.

I've adapted the table to show the 2004 presidential election results, by state, ranked by generosity. Many thanks to reader Richard Davis, who alerted me to The Generosity Index and came up with the title of this post.

Update: Thanks to David Schmitt and other readers, I'm now able to post the Generosity table as a jpeg:

(for table, see http://michellemalkin.com/2004/11/10/most-charitable-states-red-or-blue/)

Prove this assertion; anectdotal evidence is not credible; doesn't even come close.

And again - you refuse to prove this assertion that you so strongly agreed with: "If pro-lifers we truly for the promotion of life, they'd spend more time on those already suffering, and less time on a stanger's personal choice."

But expect proof of a personally verified statement from me: "... every pro-lifer that I know spends much time on those "already suffering" due to failed abortions, current abortions, etc..." Continued hypocrisy at the highest level ci. Shocked

RL, you spin doctor. the study does not imply anything of the sort. I live in Missouri, a red state, there is nothing in your study to show that the contribution in my state came from the rural(red) area and not the urban (blue) area.

I don't need to even ilustrate how this breakdown has very little to do with the discussion at hand.

Then where do you get off? Waiting for dry land?

You talk down to me to turn around and say we're all in the same *boat?

What sense is there in that? If you regard me as just another animal at the zoo.....what animal do you take me for?

P.S You do not descend from a monkey no matter how bananas you are.

Your religion keeps you from learning about evolution; we belong in the primate family, and monkeys are our cousins. Our DNA matches by 96 percent. Bummer, heh?

In the human-primate family, there are many hypocrites. Some are called "christians" or "pro-lifers."

real, As in "real life," there are christians who aren't hypocrites or try to "control" the life of others they do not know. They don't stick their nose into other people's lives they don't even know or care about.

And yes, all my siblings are "smarter" than me. My older brother was an attorney/administrative judge in California. My younger brother an ophthalmologist and now a state legislator, and my sister an RN. I almost flunked high school, but eventually earned my college degree, and worked most of my 30 years in management positions. I retired first in our family, and have accumulated enough savings to retire comfortably. Yes, I never was "that" smart.

How much of your "comfortable" savings are you spending on those uncomfortable children that you continuously preach to us about?

Additionally, I married a woman who graduated high school, nursing school, and college with honors. Our oldest son graduated college summa cum laude and his masters with "honors," and our younger son graduated college cum laude. Our "family" members (siblings, newphews and nieces) include three physicians, three PhDs, and one dentist, and two attorneys. Bummer; I'm the least educated of them all.

baddog, Bad question. I'm not the one trying to advocate control of the woman over the fetus. You are. It's none of my business, but your kind seems hell bent to stick your nose into other people's lives. If you are so concerned about the fetus, you also have the responsibility to ensure that all the living children are cared for. You can't limit your advocacy only for the still unborn, and forget about all the living. I don't have such grandiose and unrealistic ambition. If you really care for the fetus, you must also care for all children now living. It's called consistency. Your religious' belief that "all life is precious" has made you blind to the realities of this world. In my world, I advocate for the woman to decide her own fate. It's called "free choice," and that's what I have and will continue to advocate for. My contributions to charities is none of your business.
