neo, This thread is about "abortion." I have no influence on what any woman decides to do with her fetus whether to go full term or to terminate it. It's between her and her doctor, and it's none of my business.

If she commits murder, it's up to the authorities to charge her with murder. I'm completely out of the loop.

If it's none of your business, why are you talking about it?

And if it's none of your business , why are you telling others how they should approach the issue?

Why don't you practice what you are preaching, CI?

Because I like to expose hypocrites. It's one of the few enjoyments I have on a2k.

If this is your problem, then people trying very hard to create life via IVT are the worst!

You've done a very good job of it, I must say.

A hypocrite is one who doesn't act in accordance with their beliefs.

I believe that abortion should be opposed, and I do so.

You have stated repeatedly that you do not attempt to impose your view of right and wrong on anybody but yourself.

Yet you continual scold people for not holding your view of right and wrong.

Yes, you've done a very good job.

Actually, I was not certain, so I googled IVT and that was what I came up with.

As far as In Vitro Fertilization is concerned, I believe the ethical considerations are profound, yes.

No, real, it's something that escapes you and your fellow hypocrites. You continue to claim that the fetus must be protected from murder, but you haven't done much for those children already alive who are without shelter and food. You are the hypocrite - first class - who tries to impose your personal belief about life on women you don't even know or care about. Unless you are willing to care for all the babies now alive, you have no business trying impose your foolish belief about what constitutes life.

In order for RL to speak out about his beliefs as to what constitutes life...he would have to care for all babies that are alive now?

Do you mean take care of?

Why?

By your standard....Do you have any business to speak about what constitutes life?

How do you know what RL has done for other children or the homeless?

Who can speak out under that standard????Then listen to him.

Yeah, CI. What gives you the right to assume that those who believe life begins at conception must somehow have no regard for those who have been born?

You don't know me and you don't know RL or Bart or any of us. So what makes you so sure?

So I take it that (by your own words) you will be practicing what you preach "unlike RL" and keep your comments about what you believe does and does not constitute life....to yourself... or reveal yourself for being....what you accuse us of being?

If your not understanding my point...please ask and I will clarify.

You don't have to believe in God or that life begins at conception to be a hypocrite or a zealot for that matter.....CI.

This fact I fear has.....(what's the words I want to use)..... "escaped you"!

BTW...we don't have to know you either.....

You have defined yourself as someone less than I had imagined, CI. Are you sure this is how you wish to be known?

CI likes to accuse people based on zero knowledge of their lives. It's simply a dodge, to avoid any real discussion of the issue.

On the other hand, it's very clear that he constantly violates his own credo on this forum by claiming that his standard of right and wrong apply only to him, and then trashing others for not sharing his standard.

Expect CI's hypocrisy to continue.

He will preach moral relativism on one hand, and try to push his morality on others in the next breath.

Please point out to me where my hypocrisy lies; I do not wish to impose my beliefs - religious or otherwise - on what constitutes life on women I don't even know or care about. I believe it's the woman's choice with her doctor; it's none of my business. If a crime is committed, it's up to the legal system to respond. You people like to call it "murder."

Show me?

Like you, I say it is not my province to make decisions for others. I happen to believe strongly, and have presented evidence, that human life begins at conception. Your conclusion that I would have no regard for those already born is non sequitur at least and hypocrisy at worst.

The hypocrisy of a moral relativist lecturing others on what they should believe, say and do is too funny.

Fortunately, most of them fail to see it, which adds to the fun.

Also, their failure to discern the inconsistency in their position is indicative of why they are a moral relativist in the first place.

CI is not being a hypocrite. A moral relevist can still point out where other's fail their own moral tests.

CI simply points out that yu fail your own standard. You additionally fail his standard, but it is your own plastisized version of morals which he is demonstrating. It is truly comical that you fail to see the difference.

I certainly have my own moral standard, one that I can't claim is any better than any other person's. It's ridiculous for me to hold you to that standard. The difference here is that as I begin you understand your standard, I can certainly hold you to it.

RL, you fail on all fronts of this.
