Seriously though, cjhsa - you've always been a clueless lout, but lately you've been worse - did you have head trauma?
Maybe he shot himself in the foot.
I mean for real and not just like he does routinely here on A2K...

I agree "smithin, the worst reps of hunting and outdoor traditions have usually been cj ,and OSD,
when they sometimes creep the audience out.
This thread is actually quite mild.
POINT OF INFORMATION, FARMER:
How can I be among
" the
worst reps of hunting and outdoor traditions "
when I have never commented upon them ?
I CHALLENGE U
to set forth anything that I have ever said b4
about hunting or " outdoor traditions ".
Let 's see u do it.
I believe in freedom to hunt and fish,
but I have not SAID so b4.
Is it that u r just so ENTHUSIASTIC
about blackening my name ?
My comments ( regarding firearms )
have been limited to freedom of self-defense
from violent criminals and from predatory animals.
David
Since a large part of hunting orbits about guns, OSD, you are a spokesman for the "fraternity" and , as a gun owner, I find your methods a bit embarrasing. Youre like our "whacky uncle" who stands around with his fly open , shouting profanities at passerby. You see your arguments as cogent and compelling, I see them as internet graffiti writ with a spray can.
Course, thats just me.
Great description farmerman. He does kind of remind me of a whacky uncle that no one likes to talk about at family gatherings.
Also, I'm not sure I've seen too many predatory indoor animals, now that I think of it. Certainly none that would require a firearm to fend off. So I'd have to say fending off predatory animals would count in that "outdoor traditions" category...
Of course, that's just me.
Although I'm sure we'll soon be regaled with tales of fighting off Benji the rabid pet dog or Skittles the housecat gone feral...
I think that killing doves is ridiculous.
They don't bother anyone.
They aren't overpopulated.
You don't eat them. Or rather, they aren't usually killed for food.
So....you just want to kill them to kill them?
Vote NO on 3.

Another HSUS supporter?
Bluegills don't bother anyone. They aren't overpopulated (well, maybe in some lakes). You don't eat them, oh wait, you do eat them. Doves too. Yumm.
BD, prop 3 was put on the ballot by anti-hunters, not the other way around. Pick your side (carefully).
I am not an anti hunter, but I see no reason to shoot them.
Plain and simple.
You know as well as I do (even if you won't admit it) that a lot of "hunters" don't hunt responsibly and you tell me how many people you think would take the time to prepare dove to eat.
I think not very many.
Lifting the ban is only an excuse to kill something else.
Now if they put seagull season on the ballot, you can bet your sweet ass I'd be voting yes. They are a nuisance. They are overpopulated. Doves are not.
There is no ban bella, in fact, there was a season until HSUS got enough signatures to put the issue on the ballot, which is their modus operandi to end all hunting in the U.S. One species at a time. I urge you to reconsider if you haven't already voted.
FYI both candidates for governor support a dove hunt.
Besides, sometimes a guy just needs to shoot something small and helpless.

So what does that mean if there is no ban? Is it legal to kill them?
I guess that confuses me.

Yep, as many as possible.

Granholm signed into law in 2004 a limited dove hunt. HSUS got enough signatures (by paying a California company to collect them) to get the issue on the ballot. HSUS is a Washington D.C. based political action group whose primary mission is to end all hunting.
For one thing, wildlife management issues really don't belong on the ballot in the first place. I'd like to see Michigan law changed to prevent this from happening again.
So, you can hunt them in limited quantites?
****, I hate this because you read up on these things, think you know the facts and then realize you have missed some key issues.
How you vote on proposals is determined on how things are right now.
Yes, there was a limited dove hunt in Michigan until HSUS forced the issue to the ballot (they sensed and easy victory, and may get it).
Anway, if you care:
"We are going to use the ballot box and the democratic process to stop all hunting in the United StatesÂ… We will take it species by species until all hunting is stopped in California. Then we will take it state by state." - Wayne Pacelle, HSUS chairman, quoted in an interview published in the magazine Full Cry, October 1990.

CJ, since you are such a passionate hunter, how do you feel about the projections that the global natural fish stocks will collapse by 2048?
That is some bigass hogzilla. Id be using an RPG and not a crossbow. Was the pig eating the little baby elk?
Why do we have to always see self promotional shots of this noodge guy.? Did he shoot the hog?

I say keep the foreign fishing boats as far away from our waters as possible. Here in Michigan our fish stocks are doing OK, certainly much better than 100 years ago, but they could still be better. Lots of threats from non-native and undesirable species.

That's Sunrise Acres, his ranch outside of Jackson, MI.
