Re: Does "Bush bashing" bother you?

Attribute ONE quote from ME bashing BILL Clinton (His wife on the other hand...)
Here's how it works,
McG: I ask a question, and then you answer it. And then you get to ask me a question, and I'll answer it. But I won't answer your questions if you won't answer mine. Fair?
I already have answered your question Joe. Now that I know that YOU know how it works, answer away.

Sorry,
McG, challenging me to find instances of your Clinton-bashing in no way answers whether or not you
respect Clinton. For your benefit, then, I'll repeat my original question:
"So, you respect Bill Clinton?"
Of course, if you're unwilling to answer this question directly, just say so: I'll understand. I know how hard it must be for you to admit something like that.
It's not hard at all. When Bill Clinton was our president, I had great respect for the man. In fact, I believe I have said so in other threads. I said as much in your original quote, but for some reason, you felt that you needed to challenge me in my original post.
Why is this so hard for you to understand?
McG - When someone seems to be having trouble understanding something that seems fairly obvious to me, I tend to assume that the person simply prefers to not understand, or rather prefers to maintain a pretense of not understanding.
(This may or may not bear on the discussion at hand.)
Never thought of the fact the international Bush bashing does not only has the Afghanistan and Iraq wars as main causes? I dislike Bush because he isn't doing anything to reduce the Greenhouse Effect (by signing the Kyoto Protocol) and thinks economy is more important than the future of our planet (by building pipelines through the beautiful nature of Alaska for example). While some European countries are investing billions in saving the nature that is left, the USA under the rule of Bush - which produces a big part of the gasses which contribute to the Greenhouse Effect, only China produces more - has a big part in "spoiling" it for the rest of the world. Therefore, I thank mister Bush
Scrat, I tend to lump the 'kill Bush' nutcases with the homegrown 'kill everyone' fringe. They defy classification because they're not on the same planet as the rest of us. As far as I know, such a threat (to organise the asassination of Bush) is a crime and anyone foolish enough to take him up on the offer is guilty of criminal conspiracy.
However, everyone can quite happily call for the death of Saddam Hussein, Fidel Castro, Gaddhafi, Arafat, the latest Ayatollah, Kim Jong Il, the Taliban leaders, Ortega, Chirac, etc and it's perfectly acceptable.
I guess I was not paying attention. I missed the part about would be Bush assassins. Killing him would be the worst thing they could do. It would have the effect of turning him, in the minds of a gullible public, into another John Kennedy. Everything the man ever did, right or wrong might become the full gospel for a decade or more. What a revoltin development that would be.
having been a strong basher of Johnson/Nixon/Reagan/Bush I/ I feel no concern about Bush II bashing. In fact I feel a moral obligation to continue. (I was not all that fond of JFK either)

I like Carter, even though I didn't like many aspects of his presidencey, and I have a bit of affection for dumb ole Jerry Ford. The rest of the presidents beginning from Truman to Bush deserved a lot of bashing.

Well,
McG, it's clear that you have
expressed your respect for Clinton at least once before, albeit in a rather limited sense. In that same spirit, I'll freely admit my respect for George W. Bush's drunken carousing and courageous defense of Texas against the Viet Cong menace.
This is "America" folks. We have the responsibility to speak out against any administration that exaggerates the dangers posed by the leader of another government, then go in and kill over 15,000 of their citizens, get our people killed, spend billions that are needed at home to improve our own infrastructure (schools and medical care), and give tax breaks to the wealthy at a time when our nation's deficit is growing out of control, and our people are losing jobs at the rate of 77,000 every month. That's bad leadership: If we can't speak out against such atrocities, we deserve more of the same.
I hope that's just the short list, Mr. Pondquility, i have a lot more people i want to add to that . . .
Yes, it's the "short" list. You may add to that freely.

My apologies, he's not actually requesting cash to organise an assassination attempt. Though one may be forgiven for thinking that such an plan may take up much of his time. My other statements still stand.
While I would not murder Bush or anyone else, the vision of Bush in handcuffs is most gratifying.
Someone please check the "Bush Hater" box next to Edgar's name.
You got that right, scrat; but not from partisanship, but because he is the worst president in our history.
You don't need to keep proving your opinion is irrational and unfettered by a basis in fact, I got that already.
Gee, I tried to vote in that poll, but it seemed to be closed down already. Strange...
Anyhow, after eight years of vitriol directed at the Clintons, I'd have to say, what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
Which is another way of saying, no, Bush-bashing doesn't bother me. Not even a little...
