@verbivore,
"What doesn't kill you only makes you strong."
Some cliches serve to make us less alert.
Essentially correct, morally wrong,
Its application serves to gloss our hurt.

Although there's wisdom there I would avoid
The dull- and dumb- ing down trite proverbs give.
We live by rote and wax all humanoid.
Bypassing pain and joy, forget to live.

@spikepipsqueak,
from the belching of the volcano
lava began to flow
down hills finding pukas
to fill with molten rock
which cooled and the rain
soaked into crevices and
the heat of the sun and the
wind played their timeless game
of turning lava into soil
making way for new life.

@Sglass,

filling the crevass
abyssal lovers
drowning ecstasy

@solipsister,
Monty Python lovers have such formulaic souls.
Each situation has its set riposte.
It's quite secure when someone else has scripted out your life.
They show a social tendency to coast.

So
"I'll see you anon?"
"Sure, and raise you a priest."

(I'd apologise to Monty Python freaks, but I are one.)

@spikepipsqueak,
Click goes the mouse boys click click click
Porn is his go and his hands move quick
The wife comes looking round but is beaten to the blow
And curses the old shagger at the bare bellied show

@solipsister,
Are you somewhere
Where you can know,
Herr Hitler,
The extent of your legacy?

Driven by malice, madness,
And the lust to power.
Believing yourself inspired.
Actually deluded.
You illustrated to the world
The damage to the collective soul
That one mad man can wreak.

A lesson to learn.
What a price for tuition.

Sadist, aeolist, fascist.
The years will revile
A byword for evil.

@spikepipsqueak,
Conserve your energy.
You're wasting my time.
Can't change that I hate you.
You were way out of line.

There is no forgiveness,
After what you did.
I'm surprised I bought your story,
And how long you kept the truth hid.

I can't believe I loved you,
Given you the benefit of the doubt,
While you cheat on me w/ my friend,
As if you're all what life's about.

You have a rude awakening,
Things only stay secret for so long,
But I wash my hands of you,
After all you did me wrong.

You're nothing but a player,
But I am not a game.
After this betrayal,
Nothing's really the same.

@dirrtydozen22,
Such a poison
And such a blessed relief.

Being able to imagine
The spurt of blood,
The rictus of pain,
All that generalised agony,
Gives just enough release
That we don't actually need
To do that deed
And can retain self respect
When the dust settles.

Hatred stinks.
But possibly not as much as
The person who hurt you.

@spikepipsqueak,
What doesn't kill you,
Only makes you weaker.
No such thing as regrowth,
So don't be so eager.

With so much setbacks,
Loss included,
Holding on to false hopes,
Only gets you deluded.

A flicker of light,
In the darkness around you,
Is only temporary.
Failure always surround you.

The only reason not to succumb,
And languish in life,
Is knowing bad times will end,
On the day we die.

@dirrtydozen22,
Esp for u dirrtydozen..coz ur poems had a tinge of gloom ..

Destruction of one, might be a new beginning
To come out of the gloom, tht u are feigning
For life is a constant loop my friend
Afresh it starts from where it ends

Like a pheonix soar my dear
Burn those memories that tear
For if not anything, there is this life
Solely urs & for which u need to strive

Fill it with the elixir of love & joy
It occurs once & Oh just dont destroy!

@verbivore,
Turns out hope is a luxury,
Faith a foolishness,
Tears a solvent,
Love, it's a crime.

@spikepipsqueak,
Why is there such a short window to edit?

Turns out hope is a luxury,
Faith a foolishness,
Tears a solvent,
Love, it's a crime.

I've lost my way
To understand.
And lacking hope
Just drift in time.

@spikepipsqueak,
when all hope is gone,
only one thing to do,
look to the sunflowers,
who is saying, "screw you!"

They may seem cheerful,
They may seem bright,
But when you're lonely,
They'll mock you day and night.

Surround yourself in greyness.
Plunge yourself in cold.
Avoid everything beautiful,
And everything happiness holds.

@dirrtydozen22,
When you feel it is gone
And sing lonely songs
When you think it is pain
To just get normal & sane

Heartfelt regards across the miles
With hopes to bring you smiles

It aint ‘theirs’, for them to stay
Life is yours, Live it today!
Seasons they sure come & go
It’s to make u rise & not to bow!

Warm regards across the miles
Friend, hope it brings smiles

It aint ‘theirs’, for them to stay..
Life is ‘Yours’..Live Today…

@verbivore,
What a boon, to rise in the knowledge that you are loved,
To close your eyes in the security of that bond,
And what a blessing, held, in times of strife
And go in tandem joyous, calm, beyond.

@spikepipsqueak,
loose stitch in a new garment
wonder where's the cause
a reaction or a flaw?
transit or shop floor?...
heard a plucking at the carpet
it came from my cats paw

@mcee fya,
I would I were a robot,
I could weld or pop all day.
Each rivet perfect placed,
Each weld straight as it lay.

Not troubled by emotion
Or by hunger, pressure, thirst.
Phlegmatic, more, pragmatic,
I'd say “Feelings, do your worst.”

I'd quietly go about my job
And never fear to bust,
Quite unaware that there exists
Metal fatigue and rust.

@spikepipsqueak,
bolt out the blue
not sure that I knew
how to move on
and still remain strong
surely, but slow
I now have to go
time won't stand still
now it' s my will
