Washington Post on abduction

My every instinct tells me this woman was meeting a boyfriend/potential lover.
Yes, I know she was married.

Surely I'm only guessing, and may be doing her a grave disservice by the question.
Still, that's what I think as I read the news about it.

Don't know, osso, it could be she was zapped by some contact hallucinogenic, that she was hypnotized or maybe, she just went nuts.

It seems odd if you were going to meet someone for a tryst that you would do that while on a shopping trip with others. What happened? Did she oversleep and decide to wreck her whole military career with this far-fetched tale of bombs and notes in her back pocket???

Her father-in-law's report implies that third parties did something to her. Now to find out who they were.

If somebody told me that they slipped a bomb in my back pocket and to go to a certain address where I would certainly be held by captors, I would just slowly drop trou and walk away.

Embarassing? Certainly. But it beats kidnapping.

Something is amiss here.

I don't think she was meeting anyone - she'd just gotten married, hadn't she? She was shipping out and meeting up with her hubby for a belated honeymoon.

But it does sound weird. A bomb and a note were put in her backpack...when did she discover them? Was the note in English? She didn't speak any of the dialects there. Why not just walk to the nearest police station? Or call for security?

Why was her hair dyed and then shaved?

How did she get loose?

What did they want with her?

Was she 'interfered' with?

Too many unanswered questions. Maybe she was suffering from some form of battle fatigue?

I don't know how to do this. I am new at this. But, I think there is something fishy here too. Did I do this right?

Something is definitely amiss. You can't have both a shaved head and died brown hair.

Could she have brain damage from the war or is she cheating on her husband and her country?

I decided after I posted that that I was overreacting with my vivid imagination. Still, it was an odd story. Haven't heard anything since - quiet descending over the scene - or else I just missed any updates.

I'll see if I can find amything more recent on google; if so I'll post a link.

Since she found the note and bomb in her pocket, and she was a Major in the Sevice, why didn't she toss the bomb away and run to the authorities?

Something here definitely doesn't pass the "smell" test. But until we know more facts, we're only speculating.

I made the original post in the wee small hours, and might well have been doing the woman a disservice by my - not even really speculation - wild hunch.

Martin Lawrence and Margot Kidder are two famous people who were found disoriented in strangers' backyards in recent years.

I'm sure they are not the only ones-just people we found out about because of their previous fame.

This woman seems to have undergone a similar experience.

I think Margot Kidder had some history of that... though I've no memory of details.

I read google news and other sources with low attention and jaundiced eye.
So my post here was reactive within minutes of reading the story.

Now I do wonder. Some early thing I read said something about her phoning someone after leaving some associate (a no-no, I've read) in the store.
Oh, well, none of my business, certainly, except that I tend to wonder about various news briefs.

And good luck and good health to her, whatever she is going through.

Because she couldn't.

Okay, people. I think I can clear this all up. No, she wasn't at some cheap hotel filming a gang bang porno as some on this forum have suggested.

I was in the US Army for five years. Early in our training we were required to memorize our "General Orders." I can't remember exactly what they were, but they went something like this:

1) I will not leave my post unless properly relieved.
2) I will obey the orders of the officers appointed above me.
3) If someone puts a bomb in my packpack and hands me a note, I will follow the instructions until directed to do otherwise, bla, bla, bla.

You get the picture. She really had no other choice as per the general orders but to follow the instructions handed to her with the bomb.
