I know I'm waaaay too old and that I'll regret it in the morning, but it sort of sounds like fun. Eeeuuuwww.
Oriental dragons predate hippies. Oriental dragons predate even the most venerable and energetic members of A2K.

Sun loong (an oriental) is the fiercest dragon I have ever come across. He is also the longest dragon in the world. We use lions to keep him in check.
Sun loong spends most of the year asleep in Bendigo Australia. he can be quite grumpy when woken but is actually quite a jolly chap after a cup of tea. I've never asked him if he can hover.

Chinese New Year dragons and the dragons on dragon boats are NEVER nasty.
Not to mention Puff the Magic.
A kid came in with a plastic dragon...it was exceedingly odd.
It had a face like a dinosaur, four legs, and wings that were absolutely clearly modified forelegs, with claws and all.
The taxonomy of the thing would never have disturbed me until this thread.
Now I am anal re dragons.
That can't be a good thing.
I blame several of you, really.
Great site, Noddy.
Yinglong? "Yeah, I got 25 without parole."
Diane--
MacAvoy writes about dragons and her heroines are our age. Very satisfactory.
Old broads are much more interesting, aren't they Noddy?
Diane--
We have lived--and learned. We've been marinating in the universe.
Well at least we're past the PMS stage. Hmmpf.
Oh, I forgot---be afraid, be very afraid.
Quote:You're dragons.
You scare me.
Some may aspire to dragonhood when they reach their prime. Others....well....it's like testosterone and the camel's eye.
Well, this thread had devolved completely into sexist horseshit--too bad, it used to interesting.

So...make with the dragons already!!!
last one in is a heap of fewmets.
More stories of derring-do with dragons, please Setanta. Swash your buckle, ride your steed, save stupid maidens who don't have the brains to stay out of the way of dragons. Come on.
Barbara Hambly has a very interesting quartet (Dragonsbane, Dragon's Shadow; Knight of the Demon Queen and Dragonstar
dealing with the seductive aspects of cosmic knowledge for a wife/mother/career woman.
Found all four used on amazon. They sound like good reads.
So far I haven't seen any swashing buckles, daring deeds on rampant steeds or dead or dying dragons or fair but stupid maidens. Me thinks Set has left in a huff.
Set?
He's sharpening his sword and polishing his armor/armour--or perhaps renewing the swash water. Set is a survivor.
Come back setanta.
New doco out here in Aust dec 15th
Some bloke calling hisself Eragon do you know him? Looks to be a bit of an upstart but I try not to judge a man until I've seen him at work.
