Vocabulary is a worrisome thing...
though different elements can make it sing
An accent, some slang
Can turn "thing" to "thang"...

Vocabulary is a worrisome thing
Though different elements can make it sing
An accent, some slang
Can turn "thing" into "thang"
And Southern comfort it will bring.

Tonight I've got the blues
I'm going to have to choose
Between in or out
In my mind no doubt
I'm going to party, tomorrow I'll snooze

There was a young girl from Devizes
Who liked to plan surprises
With guests who were neurotic
Her parties were quite chaotic

There was an old man in Peru
Who didn't look like me and you
His eyes they were runny
His nose red and funny
Each time he exploded, "Ah-chooo!"

There was an old man in Australia
Whose favorite movie was "The Blue Dahlia"
He wiled away his days
At movie matinees

I met a new friend last weekend
You can bet that she was a wiccan.
Not one who is tragic,
But one who spreads magic,
Good magic that I'd recommend.

So where have you been watery mammal?
We thought you had been caught in a fierce trammel,
Oh what a fuss
You'd never desert us
Or we'd have to turn you into a camel
