@dlowan,
But he sounds like a truculent gent
He's come all the way from Tashkent
To live right next door
With his family of four
I think I'll just raise his damn rent

@Rockhead,
I bought a new suit for the wedding
but the bridesmaid insists on a bedding
Avoiding a rumple
My new suit would crumple
Perhaps she will settle for heading

Well how queer, I must say
Are you tempted that way?

This whole thing is turning quite blue.

On our side the pond
Amer'cans are fond
Of any game with a ball and a brawl

There's snot, and there's gore

@OnTheFritz,
Okay, that's enough about violence
Let's move the discussion to sport
The kind that's more quiet
Gentle and passive

Like yachting, and croquet, and tortoise racing maybe.

@McTag,
My Barnet needs cutting badly
Not sure what a Barnet is, sadly
A suburb or club
A dog or a shrub
I'll help with your problem, and gladly

@OnTheFritz,
The change in the weather here's grand
With the passing of last night's rain band.
So I'm of out to barby
With my personal Darby

Some of them sure are confusin'

@OnTheFritz,
A "barnet" comes from Barnet Fair
It's rhyming slang for your hair
It's incomprehensible
And not very sensible
But that's what they speak like, down there

The Londoners' habitual patois
Makes you feel like committing a fatwah
They murder the tongue
From which Shakespeare has wrung
Great works, just to show you how sad you are

yes well

We're back on track for the moment
moment? moment??

So now we've got right back on track
And my rhyming's got right out of whack

@McTag,
I realize the line I posted is challenging to rhyme, but if you didn't want to add to it you could have just left it for someone else to try, or started another limerick alongside, instead of changing it.

Thanks, Mac

We're back on track for the moment
And participants get in a foment
Over terms that may best
Help ideas expressed
With the words that are posted, so meant

I sure had a tough time with this one
