@OnTheFritz,
Close harmony doo-wop just irks them
But when I roll string it re-works them.
They prick up their ears,
Then stick up their rears,
That's one of the methods that perks them

It's late and I'll soon be asleep

@McTag,
It's late and I'll soon be asleep
Downwards my eyelids will creep
I'll drift off and dream

Downwards my eyelids will creep

Of things often cream
Just listen, insomniacs, and weep.

What a day it has been, to be sure

@OnTheFritz,
What a day it has been, to be sure
Constipation, and then a seizure
And I bloodied my nose
Leaning into a rose

@spikepipsqueak,

What a day it has been, to be sure
Constipation, and then a seizure
And I bloodied my nose
Leaning into a rose
Such clumsiness. Is there a cure?

Then I had a big row with my wife

@Rockhead,

Then I had a big row with my wife
I hadda hide the big effin steak knife
When she starts to shout
You'd better look out

Got volume, my trouble 'n' strife.

@spikepipsqueak,
Our rows always end with a bang
From that gun I brought back from Da Nang
I aim it at her
She starts to cower
Though it shoots blanks, it ends her harangue

Later in bed, she gives me some head

@OnTheFritz,

Later in bed, she gives me some head
Lice, I was so dis-gus-ted-
I said "That's real mean.
Improve your hygiene"

Or you won't be invited to bed"

@spikepipsqueak,

She washed and she combed and she picked
Out the nits that were making me sick
Suchlike little critters
Just give me the jitters

Now the creatures from Hades were gone
I get the short couplets?
That makes me fed up. Let's
Spread the job out from now on.

@McTag,
It is raining like cats and dogs here
Well, doggies and catlets and deer.
There are raindrops so big

Sorry McTag, unintentional. Mind you, it was beautifully said. Smile
