Oh, but they bounce to and fro
Those pristine white crystals of snow
How lovely they seem-
A tobogganner's dream
And for children to ball up and throw

A "White Christmas" is seldom seen here
But maybe we'll get one this year

But maybe we'll get one this year
Santa still shows
With nary much clothes

Santa still shows
With nary much clothes
And snubs cookies and milk, for beers

We were waiting in line to see jolly Saint Nick
Tired from battling the crowds and heavy traffic
With Muzak blaring in our ears
And little ones reduced to tears

And little ones reduced to tears
Very far from our thoughts was Chappaquiddick

Perhaps I shoulda rhymed it with "quick"
I write all my notes with a Bic
A French ball-point pen
You need those now and then

Why not try a feather?
Or something made of leather?
Just give it a try

The sky above is cloudy and gray
Not what I wished for on Thanksgiving Day
But the turkey dinner was well done
Family and friends stuffed and ready to run
What shall we eat Christmas and pray

Is anybody going to the sales?
Is Ireland bigger than Wales?
Do birds of a feather
In truth, flock together
Or is that just like, one of those tales?

Christmas will be here before you know it
Gifts to buy, cards to write, no way we're down a pit
Christmas is beautiful time for our caroling team

Got to get our Christmas gifts before the rush

You may have been naughty
Or even a bit haughty
I hope Santa brings what you have wished
