. . . I'd advise you to go back to school and learn your English definitions so we can continue with this argument.
Speaking of definitions. This is the unsubstantiated definition you gave for God here:
"God can be defined: God is the (essential nature) , the unique inifinite (sic) personal spirit holy, rightious (sic), wise, and loving, who has created the existing universe, and who is preparing souls for eternal fellowship with himself through their own free response to the error on mental challenges and opporunities (sic) which he appoints."

Though were challenged at the time, you never addressed the questions. Until you, Ala Ambrose Bierce, can write The Proud More Dictionary, you should stand ready to define and defend.

"Is in the book called "The Fundamental Questions" by Professor Navia and Professor Kelly. I can't recall the page number. I will have to ask Professor Kelly about it. I just got it from my class notes."

And one more thing, my deluded friend...this is the definition of "God" I gave ( with capital letter, which specifies a name, the god of the Bible...Jehovah). As you can see, I did not mean to define "god" or "gods." If you don't understand what i mean by this, I will be very happy to explain it to you.

But let's not make this thread go off course.

There are only two reasons for contradictory conclusions, conflicting premises and faulty logic.

Where you and I have our initial differences, Jason, is in our premises.
I would have no aversion to examining the path derived from your suppositions, but what I was hoping for when I first posted this thread was to explore the premises outlined and derived from the first three chapters of Genesis and carried through the Bible.

So tell me: Was the sin of Adam and Eve no more than a dietary indiscretion or is some deeper explanation needed to explain it's terrible consequences? Then what might be that explanation?

Since you say you are an atheist, why not approach it from the point of view of allegory?

You're quoting me on things I've not said. I believe neo did.

About all the other stuff.... whatever.

Now I'm off to the south of norway for a few days of realaxation and fun. In the meantime I wish you all a good weekend. Smile

Thanks neo. The trip was marvelous. A five hour drive both ways, but definitely worth it.
