Gee- JTT- I am worried about those 50,000 Asians in Tel Aviv. Wilso says they are in danger. Should we warn them?

Demographics

Towers in Southern Kirya districtCity of Tel Aviv
Population by year[1][5][7][31][44]
1920 2,000
1925 34,000
1937 150,000
1939 160,000
1948 200,000
1960 390,000
1989 317,000
2009 391,300
The city has a population of 391,300 spread over a land area of 51,788 dunams (51.8 km2) (20 miĀ²), yielding a population density of 7,533 people per square kilometer (19,510 per square mile). According to the Israel Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), as of June 2006 Tel Aviv's population is growing at an annual rate of 0.9%. Jews form 91.8% of the population, Arabs (Muslims and Christians) make up 4.2%, and the remainder belong to other ethnic groups (including non-Arab Christians and Asians).[72] As a multicultural city, many languages are spoken in the city alongside Hebrew. These include Russian, French, Spanish, Tagalog, Thai, Arabic, Amharic and English. According to some estimates, about 50,000 unregistered Asian foreign workers live in the city.[73] Compared with other Westernised cities, crime in Tel Aviv is relatively low.[74]

Clearly, they're nuts. I'd jump at the chance as long as there was a guarantee of good waves. Smile

The Pals were offered at least 90 % of what they were after at Camp David. Arafat made NO counterproposals. He later said he could not accept the Accords because it would lead to his assasination by his people. Much later, he said he made a mistake and would accept the Accords. By then, intafada was well in action, and it was too late.

Just wait 'til they, or anyone, opposes them in any way. They'll run over them with a bulldozer, and not even blink.
They've got a ******* book, that they wrote, that tells them they're the chosen people. It doesn't get much more inward looking than that.

@FreeDuck,
If you use colloquial ad-hominems you are saying nothing that one understands, other than those that subscribe to the same colloquial meaning. Calling someone an ass is like calling someone a schmuck. It means nothing to those outside one's like minded circle.

The 'Clinton offer' is a joke. It gave the Pals nothing they wanted whatsoever and guaranteed the Israelis everything they wanted. Arafat would have been murdered if he'd signed it.

And that might be because they do not play nice with their own. Apparently, many accept the lack of civilized behavior in their politics.

It's to be expected that those Israel apologists know nothing about which they speak; total ignorance.

Or, they might commisserate with the feeling of Jews being abandoned by civilized nations 60 years ago, and therefore may weigh the indignities of fences, versus indignities of showers of Zyclon B.

While I am uninterested in hearing your value judgments, I will note that you do not disagree, then, that the so-called 'Clinton Offer' was not a serious offer?

Israel has to know that the US will be impartial when dealing with this crisis, not a continual partner no matter how long they keep up behaviors which are antithetical to the peace process.

This, of course, means that - according to the Israeli position - any Palestinian state will be divided into at least two disjoint parts, Gaza and the West bank (or part of it), with only one, Gaza, having a border with a state other than Israel, and that only a few miles long: the West Bank will be completely isolated from diirect contact with any other state.

So, maybe there is no state for the Palestineans that meet the criteria of one contiguous piece of land. Sort of like parts of the U.S. should be ceded to the Hispanic population that live in Texas and California, so one united hispanic country can be had.

What amazes me most about these Israel supporters is their naivety. You know how much YOUR life means to them? NOTHING. If they had to cut your throat in order to extend by one day the life of a 90-year-old blind jewish terminal cancer sufferer with dementia, they'd spill your blood as quick as look at you.

The above generalization could be thought to be an anti-Semitic statement, since it is a very pejorative view of Israeli Jews.

I don't give a flying **** what it looks like. The Israeli's are one of the most racist societies on earth. I know for a fact that they would view my Asian wife and half Asian children about the same as insects - so **** 'em. If anyone wants to call me anti-Semitic then I'll wear it, and anyone who doesn't like my attitude can kiss my ass.

For your information, Russian Jews that came to the U.S. in the late 19th century were referred to as Oriental Jews, since Russia was on the land mass of Asia. Jews from Eastern Europe are Slavic, or Eurasian (a term not used these days).

But, where do you get the idea that Jewish Israelis are prejudiced against Asians? Also, China and India are the only two countries that totally assimilated a community of Jews. They had no anti-Semitism, so the Jews eventually assimilated.

Only "chosen" to give the world the Ten Commandments. Is there much virulent anti-Semitism in Australia? Are many people scared that Jews may come en masse and "take over" from beer slurping Aussies?

@Foofie,
It's about time the history of 60 years ago be left where it belongs; it has done nothing positive for the Jews of Israel.

Advocate wrote:

It is not so much eminent domain as it is a war prize. The Pals have unilaterally mounted attacks on Israel since long before it became a state. In the '67 war, it attacked Israel. Israel has the right to take the land from the attacks came. It is similar to our taking Puerto Rico from the Spanish.

The concept of "spoils of war" is archaic in the minds of many today, I believe. The concept of eminent domain is as old as William the Conquerer, and may be more valid in the minds of today's liberal progressive left, since eminent domain is based on what is better for the greater good. In effect, a better argument can be made, I believe, that Israel, as a high-tech innovative nation can offer the world more than their adversarial neighbors that have just lived an existence in compliance with their culture and faith. Culture and faith has not stopped Israel from being high-tech; I wonder why?

Ideally, Israel could be the 21st century "mentor" to their neighbors, if their neighbors would not feel humiliated by accepting the role of mentoree. Perhaps, our egos do get in our way, more than we think?

Keep in mind that the settlements were not built in a "state." The area is a territory on which Israelis have the right to place settlements.

No, they do not.

You just don't give a damn about anything at all, other than the advancement of Israel, when it comes to that region, do you?
