Some of the west coast version of Jews might be very different than the east coast version. But, you might not believe me. However, I was talking about Jews in other countries, where anti-Semitism is very much part of the popular culture, more than in the U.S., and more overt. Remember, Jews in Russia have Jew on their ID cards as their nationality; not as a religion there. Or, in other parts of Europe Jews are just thought of as perennial outsiders.

@Foofie,
You can "play" the victim role all you want, but it's too ridiculous even to take you seriously.

You identify Jews as the only people who might have differences between regions of one country or other countries. CLUE: All cultures have differences not only between regions and countries, but within the same country.

Jews are not "unique" in the way you wish others to "see" you. Humans are humans are humans; we are all descended from the same DNA as the chimp.

@cicerone imposter,
Cicerone Imposter's knowledge about DNA could fit in a thimble.

We are not all descended from the SAME DNA as the chimp. In fact, despite some who tout the figure of 98.5% similarity of humans with chimps, the differences are far far greater. I could explicate but I am sure that the brain damaged Cicerone Imposter would not understand.

I read Herr Hinteler's link. His Russian Jew says:

Russian Jews look terrible in the newspapers - this one investigated by Interpol, that one connected to the Mafia. But Russian Jews are like everyone else. Some are good, some bad," the London-based Russian-Israeli retail tycoon says.

Why would anyone with two ounces of brains be interested in such pap?

I am sure that Foofie knows that!

You may think so but it is clear that you are not a US citizen. The Iranian fanatics spit in the collective faces of all Americans when they held our people for 444 days as HOSTAGES.

Guantanamo Bay? Abu Ghraib? That vanishes from consciousness as soon as anyone watches the savage animals from AlQueda cut off the head of the journalist Pearl on world wide TV!

It is clear that logic is not your forte. McTag.

First of all, you do not define "destabilization". Do you really think that Iran would be better off as a camel riding tribal country?

Secondly, you conflate the US with the West. Now, morons in Iran who are looking for excuses to launch missles against Iran may prate such nonsense, but I am sure that EVEN Iranians scholars are able to disentangle the US presence in Iran from the British influence. One Hundred years goes back to 1909.

Are you aware of the foreign policy stance of the US in 1909, McTag?

I don't think so!

Of course!!

The animals who blow themselves up in market places because they are Sunnis and hate Shiites, show that the Muslims are far more tribal and divided than Israel ever was and will ever be.

Not too many Persians with even a passing knowledge of their culture and history would recognise that description.

I understand that it is politically correct to say "humans are humans are humans; however, dogs, all being canines, have been bred to have distinct proclivities. I tend to believe that some humans, due to history and culture, have bred certain proclivities also. For example, if one was a peasant in Europe, and did not have a strong back, so to speak, one might never have married, since a strong back was essential to earning one's keep for a wife and child on the Lord's land. So, over centuries there might be some very strong people of peasant European stock, due to that need in the gene pool.

And, perhaps, since Jews were required to read the Torah daily, one became either literate, or perhaps left the group, since literacy was not required in the surrounding Gentile society. So, by the process of elimination, Jews might have some traits that reflect their unique culture over two to three millenia.

I think many groups are victims in one way or another. But, Jews being verbal, literate, and author a fair number of books, have been telling their unique story, while some other groups have not taken to authorship as readily (I would like to also point out that the Irish are also tremendous authors; perhaps, to vindicate the English putting a price on the head of any Irishman/woman that knew how to read).

Also, the Irish having been kept down for centuries by the English, and the Jews being kept down by an anti-Semitic Chrisitian Europe, both might be very different if they did not have that unique historical experience.

But, you are wrong, since I am a victim of all the left-wing Gentiles that might think that they have just discovered the correct politics, when it was Jewish students that were left wing in the sixties, and many now have become conservative. Oddly, many Jews and many Gentiles manage to find themselves always at polar opposites when it comes to politics. Almost like a square dance? Dosee, do.

As a thinking person, do you also criticize the gays that believe they are victims? They were once on the DSM you know (Diagnostic Statistical Manual for psychiatry). Today gays seem to believe their lifestyle is as normal as normal can be.

So? The Russians are smart enough to utilize the talents of Russian Jews. Better than the Nazis that felt Jews were expendable, so the Final Solution was just sort of Spring cleaning(so many of the Jewish scientists left Germany).

Whatever point you were making is a non-sequitor to my belief that Jews world-wide are often "tolerated" by the Gentile majority, and therefore a Jewish homeland should exist for those Jews that are either tired of "being outsiders," or just would like to live in a country where the garbageman, policeman, postman, Schnapps deliveryman, are all Jewish, just like what nice Germans get to enjoy in many a town and village in the Fatherland!

@Walter Hinteler,
Walter, Your article confirms what I've said earlier; every culture has good and bad people. I'm not sure where Foofie comes from, but she seems very myopic in her views concerning the Jewish people. I don't think anybody will be able to convince her otherwise.

The simple point is that no one should try to convince Jewish people about anything, since Jewish people do not try to convince Gentiles about anything (as Gentiles). Get it? Gentiles once proselytized their religion to Jews; when that did not work they seem to occasionally have a need to proselystize something else. I think Gentiles just do not like to see Jews/Jewish people being completely autonomous. And who has a superiority complex?

If you read the posts of Walter Hinteler in the past, Foofie, you will be convinced that he would like nothing better than living with only the nice Germans in towns and villages in the Fatherland.

Anyone not exhibiting the characteristics of the Volk are foreign and, therefore, not welcome.

@McTag,
McTag-Please. Have you ever been to Iran? I have.

First of all, the Persians are not the majority in Iran. There are also Kurds and Lurs.

Secondly, more than half of Iran consists of inhabitable salt deserts.

Do you know the religious philosophy of the leaders of Iran?

They believe in the return of the 12th Imam. When he returns, after GREAT CHAOS AND DESTRUCTION, the Caliphate will be re-established.

In the Eighth and Ninth Century, they cut off the heads of infidels. Some( like the killers of Mr. Pearl) still do.

@genoves,

I think we will only have a solution here (to the Palestine question) when moderate opinion on both sides starts to reel in their zealots.

That is, the murderous preaching which led to the death of Mr Pearl, for example: and the expansion of Israel through building of settlements on the West Bank.

You will say there is no equivalence: I say, at least the murderers of Mr Pearl filmed what they were doing and pulicised it. Zionists on the other hand, obstruct and sometimes murder journalists and peacekeepers who are trying to publicise and uncover the truth of what they are doing.

Whatever the horror of beheading a man with a knife, state-sponsored larceny and murder is equally reprehensible in the eyes of many, and is happening around Israel on a much larger scale.

One of the attractions to Israel of the West Bank is the water it contains. Israel controls the water when it occupies the land, and has industrial drilling and pumping capability.

Here is an article of yesterday, citing a World Bank report which states that Israel is taking 80% of the available water for itself.
