@cicerone imposter,
Not to read the entire posting, that is in reponse to your post, and then reply, makes me wonder what paradigm of online etiquette you subscribe to? Or, your time is just so valuable, Your Lordship.

But, telling me such, was a good put-down, I believe.

Do you realize that you are not a Palestinean, and are willing to argue with a Jew about Israel. Perhaps, you are out of your jurisdiction when arguing Israel with a Jew? Or, at least you should understand my lack of concern for many of your points. Wake up and smell the bagels and lox!

Out of my "jurisdiction?" Quit talking nonsense, and tell me exactly what you are talking about? FYI, this is a free speech country, and no topic concerning foreign countries is out of bounds.

Do I realize I'm not a "Palestinian?" You've already gone over the edge of sanity. Why do I have to be a Palestinian to talk about them? Your say so?

You are ignorant in more ways than this subject about Israel. You have no common sense or concept about debate.

This is interesting...
An Iranian ship, carrying weapons for the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, has been sunk by missiles.

And its an Egyptian report about what the ship was carrying, not an Israeli report.

http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3706989,00.html

Quote:
The report says the Iranian ship was headed for Sudan in order to unload the weapons, which would then travel by land to the Gaza Strip. But the ship was sunk by the missiles, along with its crew.

If its true, it will be hard for the pro Hamas people to deny.

Cicerone, you may subscribe " to the paradigm of honesty, logic, and equality for all peoples," but you sure do not practice it.

My point Your Lordship, is that it is silly to believe one can argue with a Jew that is pro-Israel, if one is not even the opposition (an Arab). You see, being a Jew, Israel is like a health insurance policy for Jews world-wide, since Gentiles occasionally, throughout history, have been infected with the mental disease of anti-Semitism. So, to be safe from this mental disease, many Jews believe Israel is their, or a future generation's, health insurance policy, so to speak. Kapish?

No. Not an excuse, but my reason. Yes, many Jews will be pro-Israel because of anti-Semitism's ability to survive. You should not call me a bigot; calling me a Jew is actually the reason I am pro-Israel. If you do not like that, notice that I mind my business about any feelings you have, or do not have, for the birthplace of your ancesors. I try to mind my own business, and not stand in judgement of people, based on my set of values.

@Foofie,
The birthplace of my ancestors? My grandfather came to this country in 1893. I'm third generation American. The only country I owe allegiance and feelings for in any way is America. This was my parents home, our home, and now our children and their children's home.

You make no sense.

As a matter of fact, I believe Japan to be a highly discriminatory country based on class and other minorities such as the Ainu, Koreans and Chinese who have lived there for generations. There's no "love" lost there.

Then they may have met my grandparents on Ellis Island around that year? However, what I meant is that many Jews world-wide may think of Israel as the birthplace of their ancestors, even though their ancestors of the last millenium or two lived in Europe. Similarly, I do not try to explain to you how you should, or should not, relate to Japan. Therefore, speaking to me, a Jew, about Israel is not like talking to the average Gentile on this thread. So, you can choose to have the grace to realize that you are barking up the wrong tree, so to speak, when you try to explain to me the negatives of the State of Israel.

@Foofie,
I really don't care whether you are a Jew or a gentile. This forum is for all to participate in whether you like it or not. If all you want are Jewish input, by all means go to Israel or to a synagogue of your choice. Just don't try to tell me where or how I can talk on any subject - including Israel.

Elite Israeli Troops Refuse To Serve in the Territories

By Molly Moore
Washington Post Foreign Service
Monday, December 22, 2003; Page A19

JERUSALEM, Dec. 21 -- Thirteen reservists from Israel's elite military commando unit stated Sunday in a letter to the prime minister that they would no longer serve in the occupied territories, joining other influential security officials who have recently criticized Israeli military tactics and treatment of the Palestinians.

"We have long ago crossed the line between fighters fighting a just cause and oppressing another people," three officers and 10 soldiers of the army's most secretive unit, the Sayeret Matkal, said in the letter to Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. The letter was made public by the soldiers, who signed with their ranks, first names and the first letter of their last names.

@Advocate,
You can believe whatever you wish. There are many articles about Jews against Zionists and Israel on Google search.

I know: they are anti-Semite Jews.

Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak says he thinks Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu come to accept Palestinian statehood.

Quote:
Barak: Israel can and must make peace within three years

"I am certain it is possible and certainly necessary to act with all our might to achieve peace even before I turn 70, which will be in three years," said Defense Minister Ehud Barak in his first extensive interview since joining the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"You have to understand that in their consciousness, the leaders are not so far apart in terms of what the final settlement will look like," Barak said, adding that he believes Netanyahu will present the U.S. administration a diplomatic plan in line with the principle of "two states for two nations" during his upcoming visit to Washington.

"Bibi [Netanyahu] accepted the Oslo accords at the time. And it is clear that when a political settlement is signed with all the neighbors, it will stipulate a Palestinian state alongside the State of Israel, with the two living side by side. I believe that even now, during Netanyahu's visit to Washington, Israel should come up with a formula about how it intends to move ahead, and that formula will not propose three states for eight nations," he said.

"Bibi has a hard choice to make: Does he want to be [Yitzhak] Shamir or [Menachem] Begin?" he asked. "There is deep understanding between us on the need to address the political issue, and that it is impossible to leave things in a state of paralysis. If we sink into paralysis, we may find the world losing interest in Israel and in this conflict - or, in an even worse scenario, acceptance by the world that the solution is not two states for two nations, but one state for two nations, which for us is a concrete risk, a slippery slope."

In this photo taken Sunday, April 26, 2009, Palestinian workers build a stage next to Israel's separation barrier in the Aida refugee camp near the West Bank town of Bethlehem. Palestinians in this refugee camp want to receive Pope Benedict XVI in what they say is the most fitting setting, next to the towering cement wall that is part of Israel's West Bank separation barrier and borders Aida on two sides. They are building an outdoor theater next to the wall for the pope's visit to the camp May 13.

Walter, We saw those cement walls when we visited Bethlehem. They are disgusting! And they have the chutzpah to call their country a democracy.
