@Advocate,
Advocate, You cannot seek peace in any country if you treat them as second class citizens, take away their property, destroy their means of income, and control their movement.

Their military might will only exacerbate violence and human bombs to kill innocent Jews to retaliate. They will never have peace.

That you have been to Israel and have seen those barbed wire and cement fences, and those check points that do not allow freedom of movement just shows how you lie when you tell us that Palestinians have the same freedoms as the Jews. Do you also claim they have the same legal rights? 0.

Shame on you!

@mysteryman,
Do you really expect C icerone Imposter to present evidence? That is an old canard. No war for oil. The maps, as you say, contain no evidence but Cicerone is a mindless partisan. He is also pitifully ignorant.

@cicerone imposter,
Advocate- You cannot convince Anti-Semites. They are probably unaware that President Truman, one of the great presidents of the twentieth century according to presidential historians, accorded Israel de facto recognition, upgraded to de jure after the US elections. Not only did Israel survive four separate wars for its existence but it continued to preserve its constitutional integrity and democratic practice so that now it is the only working Democracy in the Middle East.

I would rather accept a million Jews in the USA and a thousand fundamentalist Muslims who TRULY believe that the world must proceed to the point where all people are under the Caliphate>

People like Cicerone Imposter do not know just how dangerous and fanatical some of the radical Muslim groups really are. I have no doubt that they would put all of Israel to the sword if they could. In that respect, they are like the Nazis.

The point is, those youth quoted in the piece don't want those Arab Israelis to have the same rights. You yourself refer to them as a 'fifth column.'

The viewpoints of a couple kids are not even worth mentioning. Israel is a democracy with free speech, and there are a million different opinions there on most everything.

Did you even read the articles? It's not just a couple of kids, it's Lieberman and his political party who are saying these things, openly and accepted.

@Cycloptichorn,
They're no longer even trying to hide the fact that they are not a democracy, and yet many on these boards support that insane definition for Israel.

REPEATING THE TRUTH IS JUSTIFIED ONE MORE TIME THAN THE TRUTH IS REJECTED

Some claim the Palestinian territory was originally stolen from the Arabs. But that same land, was previously stolen by the Jews from non-Arabs more than two-thousand years ago. That same land was subsequently stolen from the Jews in the first century A.D. by the Romans. The Arabs stole that same land in the 7th century, and it was in turn stolen from the Arabs in the 11th century by Europeans. Since then lots of folks have stolen that same land. However, that land never again was stolen back by the Arabs or by the Jews.

In the 20th century (i.e., 1947) the British, who were the last to steal Palestinian land, gave it to the UN for the UN to figure out who should be given it next. The UN decided to give some of it back to the Arabs and some of it back to the Jews.

The Arabs tried in 1948 to steal what was previously given to the Jews by the UN"after the UN was delegated by the British to decide what to recommend. That Arab effort failed at the price of the Jews stealing some of that land previously given to the Arabs by the UN.

Subsequently, the Arabs have tried repeatedly to steal back that land stolen from them by the Jews plus that land given the Jews by the UN. The Arabs have failed each time they tried and had more of the land given them by the UN stolen from them as a result.

Come on you Arabs, stop trying to steal land from the Jews before you don't have any left of your own to be stolen. It's simple! All you Arabs have to do to get my support to be given back what was stolen from what the UN gave you, is grant Israel's right to exist in the territory the UN gave[/b] Israel, and simultaneously stop trying to steal more than what the UN gave you!

When any nation A is attacked by another nation B, it sure would be prudent for the attacked nation A to counter attack and to defeat the attacking nation B, before the attacking nation B grows able to conquer the attacked nation A.

@BigTexN,
It is ridiculous to say that Israel is not a democracy. The elections there are hotly contested, and no one wins by virtue of the gun.

What are the pros and cons of Lieberman's views? I think there may be merit in requiring ALL Israelis to sign a loyalty oath or be stripped of citizenship. Immigrants to the USA must make a similar oath before being sworn in as citizens.

But, we're not talking about immigrants, we're talking about citizens. That's bullshit.

Lieberman is a racist asshole, I guess those are the 'cons' of his views. He wouldn't have been able to even voice his opinions in public discourse 20 years ago.

You need to be more measured about the growing right-wing, warmongering cancer in Israeli society, Advocate.

Advocate- You don't understand. Cyclops has just trumped your argument with his logic and evidence. You know now that Lieberman is an Asshole and Israel is a cancer. Why? Cyclo said so.

And here I thought that Cyclo was an educated man who would present evidence and documentation instead of ad hominem and adolescent attacks.

What are they teaching at Berekeley lately????

I was wondering what Wikipedia had to say about Palestineans. So, there was no articles labelled - Palestinean(s). Well, that clinches it. There is no such group. I wonder when it was made up? 1948?

@ican711nm,
You just haven't been paying attention; all that and more has been inferred and suggested. Start from really becoming a "democracy" by providing the same rights and freedoms in any democracy. Prosecute those who break the laws, not the whole tribe.

You need not have given me the link if you choose to reply in what I perceive as a less than humble manner. Now I lost my interest.
