What garbage! Israel is a vibrant and prosperous multi-ethnic democracy. No other country in the ME can say that.

Lebanon has always had its problems. Some missionary friends who left during the last Lebanonese/Israeli conflict advise that things have greatly deteriorated there in the last several years, especially since Islamic fundamentalists such as Hizbollah are exerting increased pressure there. In exchanged communications some months ago, they sent me this link which they say illustrates some of the existing problems:

Abu Abir, a spokesman for the Popular Resistance Committees told Ynet that the terrorist attack at the Jewish seminary in Jerusalem where six people were killed was a blessed act. "The only way that Israelis will have security is to get up and leave Palestine. All Palestinians will chase after every last one; we won't leave them space to bury their dead. This is the first of many acts that the Palestinian resistance promised and started to carry out."

Fawzi Barhum, a Hamas spokesman, said that "following the IDF action in northern Gaza, it is only natural that the Palestinians react to the massacre that the Israeli army carried out." (Ali Waked)

This is all the more reason that Israel needs to complete its fence. The Pals are all about murder and persecution. They even kill and persecute their own Christians, women, atheists, et al. Hamas is the worst, and should be eradicated like the roaches they are.

Never mind all the dead from Israeli air strikes this week, guess you don't see them as 'murdered' b/c it happened from a plane and not the barrel of a gun.

Israelis don't fire their weapons into the air and rejoice in the street when they hear of the death of Palestinian innocents incidentally killed when the Israelis go after military targets. You do hear of the Palestinians rejoicing when they hear of the intentional death of Israeli innocents. And therein is the difference.

I condemn this act of violence by whoever committed it. I sincerely do.

However; Israelis are just more political savvy; they might not rejoice in the streets but they support the deaths of innocent's everyday. If you send a bomb in the middle of places where civilians live or are at; it don't matter if you only intend to kill one person but the others killed. Plus that is a just an excuse Israelis use; the truth is; history has shown they don't much care if innocents get killed or not.

The number of innocent Palestinians killed proves that very point. Talk is cheap. It's the number of innocents killed that counts; everything else is BS.

Israel has no choice but to hit the Pal militants extremely hard. Anything less will merely prolong the pain on both sides. Unfortunately, the militants use innocents as shields. Thus, the militants are responsible for injuries and deaths to militants.

Bull crap. There's always a choice. In this case, militants weren't using anyone as a shield; they were home, asleep in their beds, when Israeli jets fired missiles into their neighborhood and blew the **** out of a lot of people's lives.

It's not as if these guys are standing there with a kid held to their chest as they back out of the room. You are making a false equivalence to try and pretend that your side of the argument isn't responsible for murders just like their side is. Cut it out.

The Pals don't sleep in barracks, but live and fight in the midst of civilians. Israel has NO choice in hitting militants where they can.

Sure they do. They can choose not to use airstrikes to attack the militants in the first place.

My contempt for Israeli aggression is only matched by my disdain for religious terrorism. I repeat Israel is a failed state. The zionist experiment in the Middle East has failed. The Jewish population is declining wrt the Arabs and lashing out at whole populations is a policy of despair. Its time the Israeli/zionist state was dismantled and a new binational state encompassing the whole of Palestine established.

You know that is not a bad idea; wonder if either side would go for it?

That's been discussed ad nauseum, but the issue of Jerusalem has many sticking points that seems to break down any concensus for peace.
