Oh my, there is no joy in Chicago thiis evening. The Bears lost.
And the New York Giants will have a long plane ride home after losing to Tennessee this afternoon.

At the top of our heap is Pantalones at 11-3 By my calculation he will win the week since his closest opponent, JPinMilw at 10-4, has the same picks.

At 9-5 are are Johnboy, Child. Lion and Panzade. But we pose no threat.

It looks like Jespah may get the poopy...well never mind.

Patriots vs Bears was about the weirdest game I've seen this season.

Probably the most offensive yards for the least points you'll see.
How 'bout Asante?

Mr B was despondent, literally despondent. It's times like this that my mantra of, "It's just a game!" kick in.

Yep, this was being touted as "THE GAME" of the season. People were hosting Super Bowl type gatherings. It was nuts around here. I don't get it, but then I'm not a Bears fan <shrug>.

Like many things in Chicagoland, that was premature...

14 to 12 at halftime in favor of Green Bay. Anybody watching?

I will post the results for Week #12 tomorrow and the standings for the YTD and the schedule for Week #13.

As promised earlier, I intend to give this sucker up at the end of this season after two and a half years. Two and a half years is longer than yall should have to endure my brand of so-called wit.

JPB substituted very ably for me while I was in San Antonio. Would JPB or anyone else like to have a go at it this week? All you have to do is keep the chatter going until Sunday. And perhaps chase down slackers (my getting a friend to get Sublime to scribble down his picks and put them in the collection plate at Sunday Mass was a classic). And then comment on how well or how badly we all did during the course of Sunday's games and the game on Monday night.

I'll help with the stats. It might take about a two hour committment over the course of the week. pm me if interested.

We are done with Week #12 and we did, as a group, pretty well. I think our best week was #2. That was the one where Johnboy and Region went 15-1.
Pantalones wins the whole enchilada this week, ending up at 13-3. Well done to him in Tijuana, Mexico, for becoming our 10th different weekly winner.
JPinMilw finished the week at 14-2. Panzade and Realjohnboy crossed the tape tied at 11-5.
A whole slew of players ended up at 10-6: Liontamerx, Region. Cowdoc, Fbaezer, Child of Light, Tico and Chiso.
Osso came in at 9-7 with Cjhsa at 8-8. In negative territory were George at 7-9 and Jespah at 6-10.
JPB missed the Thanksgiving games but was 7-6 in the rest of the schedule.
Kickycan missed the week as did Sublime. As I recall, when Mike fails to play, the Bears lose. Week #12 and Week #9.
The Best ESPN dude finished 14-2 while the Worst went 10-6. It is rare for them to beat our best picker.

Hey Johnboy... I think you have something wrong there.

If Pantalones is 13-3 and I'm 14-2, that would make me the winner. Do you have our scores switched?

Sorry, JP. You went 12-4, not 14-2. You got wrong picks with Detroit, Jacksonville, Carolina and the NY Giants. Pantalones missed with Cleveland, Atlanta and Carolina. I got it right in the standings. Just a trans-position in the Week #12 summary. Sorry.

(johnboy is getting nervous. A big night ahead. In about 3 hours my plan (well, me and my architect's plan) for the redevelopment on the corner of 11th & West Main in C'ville where my main store is and has been for some 25 years gets made public. The venue is the meeting of the Board of Architecture Review. Art Police, perhaps, deciding what is and what is not good design in our city. There is still a strong sense that red bricks and white columns were good enough for Thomas Jefferson. Why change.
The seven story building we are suggesting is decidedly not that. And it is on the corner of a double block on which UVA plans to build a parking garage and big brick office buildings and hospital clinics.
UVA is, according to my sources, royally pissed with Johnboy for not selling them my corner. They evidentally tried to get the item off the agenda "for further review." The BAR refused to grant that request.
Osso knows more than a bit about this.)

Nothing to do with football, although I bet there is a football analogy in there somewhere.
