Gutsy pick. I was temped, but chickened out.
I'm a maverick.
Then I know who you'll pick in the NBA.
Knicks?
only if you're picking the team that will finish with the worst record in the league...

Pick the winners in those 14 games (bye weeks start this week so four teams are off) and predict the total number of points that Atlanta and New Orleans will score in the Monday night game.
As usual, the deadline for making all of your picks is kickoff of the first game.
New players are more than welcome to join in. Knowledge of the NFL is totally optional.
Hrom the normal players, still waiting to hear from Sublime, JPB, Kicky and Chiso.

I thought we'd established that I was a maverick.
But what about the abnormal players?
Johnboy--I went back and looked at my Week 2 picks, and the only games I can find that I missed were the Panthers and Rams. By any chance, can I throw the red flag for an official review? Your results have me at 12-4.
You are absolutely correct, cowdoc. My second screw-up in one week. I will fix things and try to do better in the future.

Funny you should note that, Osso, about Sublime's last minute decision to play. Sublime and Kicky got pm's from me urging them to pick. Sublime responded saying he had had a busy week and some friends were coming over to watch the Bears beat the Vikings.
I quickly wrote back suggesting that "it would be in (his) best interest to play, if you know what I mean."
Um, Mike. When it looked like you weren't going to play, I did call a few really large guys I know in Chicago to come "visit" you. I tried calling them back, but they aren't answering their phones right now.
So you might want to have one of your friends answer the knock on the door there on the 35th floor. And don't tell them your name is Mike. Go for Biff or Skippy.
I am not too worried, but maybe I should warn my neighbors on the floor above me.
So the same gang of 18 that we had last week. Kicky got let in. I don't watch football on tv much. Unless something really dramatic happened in the early minutes, I figure "no harm; no foul."
With regards to the Deviant of the Week thing:
We are unanimous in picking New England over Denver and we are split 9-9 in the NY Jets vs Buffalo and Detroit vs Green Bay games (where is Gus when we need him?)
In the remaining 11 games, Jespah disagrees with the majority in 6 games, followed by McGentrix in 5. Jespah racks up 60 Deviant Points; McGentrix 48.
At the other extreme are JPinMilw, Pantalones and Sublime who agree with the majority in every single game.
So who won the total number of points at the second week... I remember edgarb and I were close but if there was a denouement I missed it.
(Glad Kick got let in so I can beat him...
what am I saying. Things aren't going so well for me here today so far.)
I'm following on the ESPN scoreboard. I can hardly bear to look - the leads have changed in six games from the last time I looked..
Well the Carolina/Tampa Bay game finally ended. Through the 8 early games JPinMilw is perfect. He could well go 14-0 for the day.
Missing only one game are Child, Region and Pantalones.
Hurting a bit are Edgar and JPB with 5 wrong and Johnboy and Kicky with 4 wrong.
Johnboy goes back to playing on-line scrabble. I just lost, pretty badly, to a lady from Spain.
