Surely a topic titled "Did you have a Spiritual Awakening?" is for those that have such experiences to share them moments, not to be criticized by people who haven't. Only a thought.

You make too much sense for some to comprehend.

Have either of you considered the meaning of the words "discussion forum?"

I remember now - I PM'ed Dyslexia maybe 3 times in all the time I've been at A2K - most recently to ask him if he was yanking my chain on a thread. He said "of course".

He has nothing of any value to say to me, so he only shows up to toss a piece of doo to see if it sticks, every so often.

The long periods of silence in between his dismal doo are most welcome.

I wasn't intending to bundle. To clarify... I didn't specifically use the word in a singularly theological way. I consider the word to mean anything that is not only against God, but against moral and ethical teachings which most people, regardless of religious thought or affiliation, generally adhere to. What I impose on myself, I do not expect everybody to understand or accept.

Fair enough. It just didn't come across that way. It sounded like the usual preaching: "We are all sinners" type of stuff. Sorry if I misread it.

Yes I do Frank, thats the point i was making, to discuss spiritual awakening. Some people seem to go on some subjects in this forum just to ridicule. To ignore your spiritual side is to ignore life, but as you may know the spirit is also called the unconscious mind or the right hand side of the brain, so everyone can discuss or become involved, to deny the spirit is to deny your own unconsious or to admit you are in the process of blocking out the right hand side, which psychologically is very dangerous, (This is quite common in atheists and religious extremists.) Different sides of the same coin don't you think.

Well I think that both sides of contentious issues like this tend to bring out their big guns at every opportunity...and considering the nature of the forum (spirituality & religion) you are gonna get lots of people pooh-poohing what is observed as "the other side."

Frankly, I don't think much of the stuff Timber has said, for instance, should be unexpected...and we have folks on the "religious" side who happen on threads aimed at agnostic and atheistic objectives who inject comparable play.

Keep in mind that those of us who see religion (and many kinds of spirituality) as a net negative for society...do feel an obligation to interject comments such as have come up here.

I try almost never to try to silence anyone...no matter how annoying or how inimicable to my position. In fact, as you know, I have been known to throw gasoline on fires some try to start in religion threads. Maybe that is the best way to handle things. IF you start a thread like this...you gotta expect there will be some of this stuff going on.

IT'S GOTTA HAPPEN.

I wanted to do it with something you wrote up above: "To ignore your spiritual side is to ignore life..."

That is a very dismissive statement...and a counter dismissive response is almost called for. (I'll pass on that for now!)

You gotta expect it.

I've exchanged PMs with Snood before, only to get attacked when he became irate over something in a thread, and not even necessarily one in which the topic of the PMs was being discussed. I tend to prefer these days that he not send me any private messages.

It's bound to happen every so often, osso. They say enough typewriters, left with enough monkeys, will produce a bestseller eventually. Very Happy

I've read that observaion on many an occasion, but I really can't accept that monkeys will ever type anything meaningful, even by accident. It just won't happen.

I'm a little tired, so I can't tell if you really ain't gettin the joke or if you're making a joke like you're not getting the joke.

In any case - it was a joke....
