2. Patada Veloz 8 points.

Who would've thought that, out of the last 9 goals, only 2 were from forwards (and substitute forwards!)

You know, I'm ridiculously pleased to have won something! Haven't felt like this since my QPR days!

Congrats Patada Veloz. Well done to LE also, who ran him close. And to all the other participants.

Special thanks to you, fbaezer. A terrific job.

I have Goethe hurling in Tubingen, but not Italy so far. I read his Italian Journey at some point and slightly-might-remember some such episode..

Never mind, it was a bit of a reach for this discussion anyway.

... and until ossoB just linked into this thread, I'd always thought it was a "who from A2K would you pick for your soccer team" thread.

I'm so wonderfully (NOT) literal sometimes.

This has been a great thread, ehBeth, a lot of fun for us all - bit of work for Fbaezer though, but I think he likes it....

YEH!

About Goethe, the legend says that he was invited to stay here in Tuebingen for a while, something similar to a sabatic, but on the very first day that he was walking around he couldn't stand the smell of the open channels and did what he had to do.

Great job fbaezr!

Well played, and congratulations, Petada Veloz.

A la prochaine, as you would say in Spanish.

....and GREAT job, fbaezer, a lot of hard work went into this, but you gave us a lot of fun and it made this tournament a touch more exciting.

I DID note, however, that whilst Petada only won a "virtual" cup, mine seems to be a real one.
Please could you send it by recorded delivery, as our postmen tend to "borrow" things of great value.

Milord:

Your postmen seem to be a very dangerous breed, I imagine.

Lady Ellpus is, as this moment, back en route (I believe that's how they say in Italian) to Britain, after coming in your behalf to receive the prize (actually I vowed to her request to meet in Cancun).
It was a touching ceremony, I must tell you.

-----------
And it was a fun game.
Thanks for playing everyone.
