Lord Lefty, I favor my right hand--also compulsively.

There will be no compulsive jiggling of hands within trouser pockets on THIS thread, Ellpus! Stop it at once, at once I say!

Hold out your hand palm up, you horrid boy-- I'm getting out the ruler. You shan't be jiggling much of anything with that hand after I get through with you!

I was going to take piccies before work this morning, but I was running too late. I'll have 'em tomorrow though, check back tomorrow...I know the suspense is killing you all!

Cypher, I agree whole-heartedly with your condemnation of Lord E. How ghastly of him, with his LEFT hand. Yuck.

Congratulations Very Happy I hope it goes well - that last version of your artists statement was definitely the most professional sounding, though the first one was interesting and read well.

waiting to see the pictures ....... Very Happy

Okay, I have piccies, but they aren't very good...I was, once again and as per usual, running late for work, so I was too rushed to do a good job.

Some of them are awfully blurry, so I apologize for that. There are a couple that I still need to take pics of tomorrow, as well as my sculptures, didn't get a chance to get pics of them. So those will be along later.

Now, I know fantasy art is not everyone's cuppa, but bear in mind that illustration for kids books is my goal, so I think my style works well for that purpose. Also, I AM capable of realism, and just to prove it, I'll post a couple of those first! Very Happy

Here is a portrait of Billy Corgan, although it is a terrible photo:

This is from the life drawing class I'm taking this semester:

I just caught up with your thread. I really like your bio. It sounds real, no pretentions. I dont like bios or srtists statments that need a philosopher to explain what we just read. Many artists try to transcend meaning with phrases right out of a thesaurus. If you right the way you speak 90% of the time, thats what you convey in your bio. You will soon be "found out" in ensuing interviews.

Theres a pile of us here that paint or draw and we chat in different languages , butr somehow we all connect fairly easily and , except for me an JL sometimes, most of us play "well with others"

just saw your work, neat. Is the picture of Billy Corgan a serigraph?

Okay, enough of realism, here are some of the fun ones! I wish you could see the detail better; the pen and ink epecially is much better when you can see the pen strokes, etc. But, anyway....

"The Warlock Lord"

This one has a lot of glare on the glass, the lighting on this wall of the museum is pretty bad, unfortunately. So the sky looks kind of washed out on the right hand side, where in real life it has a lot of different colors...

Oh hi guys! I didn't see that anyone was here....

Thanks for the feedback re the artist's statement thingie, Farmerman; I don't even want to reread it now, because I know I'll hate it and it's too late to change it! So, glad it sounds okay to you...

Umm, as far as the Billy Corgan one, gee, I feel ignorant-- I don't even know what a serigraph is! Shocked Hopefully after I gets me some more schoolin I'll know these things...Anyway, it's a pastel painting. The figures are charcoal.

Oh, awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok that's a lot of exclamation points but seriously.

Love the warlock lord one. Kind of Sendak-y.

Really great!

God-damn!

I know a whole lot of people who want to be children's book illustrators (I'd include myself in that, published one little educational series but that's it), this stuff is fab. Are the black and white ones pen and ink?

Have you seen/ read "Higglety Pigglety Pop"? I love Sendak's line drawings in that one, your stuff reminds me of it.

Doy, you said pen and ink, I just missed it.

OOoooooh, this really makes me want to draw again!! Your style is not dissimilar to mine, but you take it a lot further.
