Wax beans are similar to regular snap green beans, msolga, but they are yellow and waxy in appearance, and have a very slight difference in taste.

Thanks for enlightening me, Tai & mac.
I thought they might be some as yet untried variety of dried bean. (I can never figure out what "black beans" or "turtle beans" are either ... Perhaps they're called something else here?)

I love those yellow beans! (the green variety, too.) Crunchy! So you just steam them & perhaps toss them with a little butter & ground pepper?

Eek, that wasn't an admonishment - I was saying I just remembered it was a dinner thread, and typo'd 'remember'. Then I rushed out to the grocery store to get some chicken thighs after I read Tai Chi's post. Might try the ginger lime basil sauce on them....

we had a big pot of chicken with carrots , cauliflower and matzoballs for our main meal . it's mrs h's version of 'chicken soup' ... but less broth(water) and more chicken Smile , with lettuce + tomatoes on the side and a glass of V8 .
it's one of my favourite meals anytime of the year !
hardly had room left for the afternoon snack of some danish 'kringel' , frozen yoghurt-cappucino and a 'vienna' wafer , and a cuppa .
life ain't so bad Laughing !

Okay, I've never cooked before, but that's all changing as of this week.

Dinner last night:
yellow curried chicken with rice. made with palm sugar and other crazy stuff.

And the night before that, it was a basil pesto ravioli dish with chopped vegetables.

Back to wax beans.

I like them sorta poached in chicken broth with s/p, chives, italian parsley.

Fresh beans in season are a marvel.

Chickenthighs, 8:24 pm, I need to get a grip.

Maybe it's too late and I'll do a sandwich now and chicken parts tomorrow.
