I'll post some "white" pasta north if that'll help things, mandarin.

Lots of left-over roast chicken & roast vegies in the fridge tonight, but I'm not in the mood tonight.

This afternoon I bought one of those mini food processer thingies ... tried it out & hey presto(!), instant garlic, pine nut, parsley & parmesan cheese "pesto"! (Much too early for home-grown basil yet.) Pretty nifty! Very Happy I might cook some linguine tonight & use my experimental sauce. Very green & tasty!

Please send food!

Staying in a friend's holiday place down the coast - and food is not in evidence. I'm too tired to do out foraging in the supermarket - so dinner tonight is some red and green jelly frogs, and a melon/mango soft drink!

Well -I got my greens, anyway! Razz

I'll try harder for breakfast tomorrow - going to play golf (first time in over 10 years) so I'll need some energy!

Remember that famous photograph, dys, where the young girl, working in the factory, dirty and worn-down, stood on a crate and watched the grown men playing golf outside?

That is the direction this country is headed and that is why I despise golfers and golf courses.

And that is why the police in this county have been baffled by the destruction of the golf courses -- large tractor tire tracks reducing the greens to shreds.

phoenix and its environs, tucson and its environs, albuquerque and its environs all support a multitude of golf courses, they don't have water sprinklers because the water evoporates before it hits the turf so they flood the courses while I pay $200 per month to keep my bird-bath full of water. Gosh I love the golfers.

Ah! Rats! Sad

It may well kill me - there's a reason I don't play now - something to do with what a mate called a good walk spoiled!

We'll see!

They got a bit more rain in Scotland where it all started, no? But I agree on the elitist edge, lot of land for the pleasure of a few, well, most courses are private, aren't they? And to the extent it is environmentally iffy - and it is... think of all the weedkillers, etc., and environmental effects (I read once about climate change in the desert because of all the irrigation, etc.)

On the other hand, I think I also read about a golf course being used as some kind of contaminated water filtration spot, can't remember the details, but I don't think it was just ordinary gray water. And, again on the other hand, it's land that isn't being paved into a massive urban heat sink... though I'd rather have a nature park. Still, before I got qualms about golf, I used to like to play when I was a teen.

Wouldn't mind seeing that photo, Gus.

Not to worry, osso.
Have fun today, margo! Very Happy

Too early to think about tonight's dinner. It's a little after 8:30 am & I'm indulging in many cups of tea. I like tea! (Lady Grey this time.)

A question: What are wax beans? I'm curious.

We had salad with sliced ham. Yes, it was made, sorry provided, by me. But it was quite a nice, fresh salad. Smile

Wax beans are just another way of saying yellow beans (as opposed to green beans) and hopefully someone else will correct me but could they also be called string beans (snap beans?)? Any bean growers out there? They're in season just now and really nice steamed tender crisp with just a little butter.
