Yep typo, not saying he wouldn't streak though Wink

The pets missed us something terrible, poor Elena, all she could do was change Caesar's food and water, he tried to attack her through the cage Razz

I want all of that calamari

It wasn't the best, good calamari should be tender, this was a little too chewy for my taste.

@jcboy,
Last night we went out for Chinese food. Hot and sour soup. Egg rolls, Sesame chicken, friend rice and a beef dish. It was just okay but nothing special. The best part of the meal was the hot and sour soup. It was delicious.

@jcboy,
I can see the rolls are covered with a thick oily wrap. I like my spring rolls wrapped in a roll thats like a chinese version of philo dough.

Portion control, remember that. Lets not be seein your little ones turn into overweights.

@farmerman,
Me too, it wasn't the best Chinese food but we thought we would check it out.

There is another one close to home we will check out next.

Tonight the Puerto Rican is making soft chicken tacos Razz

@jcboy,
It’s hot and humid in Annapolis, neither of us is very hungry so it’s BLT’s tonight.

I stopped at a local dive bar coming back from the swimming pool. Picked up an all-day breakfast for myself and fries n gravy for Set (that fella is shrinking - he deserved a treat). Took it to the legion and we ate through the early stages of karaoke (sp?). Then Set went to watch a baseball game on the big teevee and I played cribbage with Alice. It was like being at the cottage in the middle of the big damn city.

@ehBeth,
July 16th the Rican and I went out for din din, it was our anniversary dinner, not marriage anniversary but the day we met.

Went to one of our favorite Italian restaurants. We both ordered the salad; appetizer’s was calamari and meatballs.

The Rican ordered the Veal and I ordered the scallops.

One of my favorite places, everything on the menu is delicious.

@jcboy,
As usual, I want the calamari.

Looks like a very good meal - and CONGRATULATIONS on your anniversary and fine fine family.

@ehBeth,
a word to those of us with an arhythmia. Calamari is a potent blood thinner. So if your taking a warfarin doosw and check your IMR numbers, do NOT eat large portions of calamari.

@farmerman,
Easy dinner tonight. Going to slow cook a roast with potatoes and carrots.

I put beef both in, bring it to a boil on the stove then put it in the oven.

I went to the market and bought everything to make beef stroganoff, going to follow Paula Deen's recipe.

Beef Stroganoff

Quote:
Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds cubed round steak, cut into thin strips
House Seasoning, recipe follows
All-purpose flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
1 medium onion, sliced
8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 (10 3/4-ounce) can beef broth
1 (10 3/4-ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
Salt and black pepper
1 cup sour cream
Cooked egg noodles
House Seasoning:

Directions

Sprinkle the steak strips with House Seasoning, and then dust with flour. In a large skillet, quickly brown them on both sides in the olive oil and butter. Remove the steak from the pan. Add the onion slices and mushrooms to the pan drippings. Saute for a few minutes, until the onion is tender. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon flour. Put the steak back into the pan with the onion and mushrooms. Add the mushroom soup and beef broth. Cook over low heat for about 30 minutes, covered. Adjust seasoning to taste, adding salt and pepper, as needed. Stir in the sour cream the last few minutes, right before you serve. Serve over cooked noodles.

@jcboy,
We just got home from having Mexican food, Taco Tuesday!

Last night I make Scallops over corn risotto, with grape tomatoes. I cooked the scallops in a chili lime butter. It was delicious.

I’m venturing out of the usual recipes and learning how to make real gourmet dinners.

I may have to start my own cooking class soon. Razz

@jcboy,
did you first brown the scallops?Theyre my favorite seafood but I cannot eat risotto or polenta, just cant stand the textures and taste. Could be the cheese
HMMM serve it over just plain sauced up wild n brown rice . The cherry tomatoes are a nice mix , makes it more like a creole dish . Greens are what? tarragon??

@farmerman,
I sautéed the scallops in a chili lime butter. No tarragon, this recipe I found called for veggie stock, garlic, lemon, grape tomatoes, parmesan cheese, chili lime butter, corn, shallot’s and Thai basil.

I’m also not very fond of risotto but adding corn and it wasn’t bad.

@jcboy,
Last night the Rican and I went out to our new favorite Mexican restaurant, I had the chicken enchiladas and he had a marinated beef dinner with soft tortillas. Both were delicious and the mariachi singers were actually very good, I'd go back just to hear them again. Razz

@chai2,
lol yea kind of. He sang very well. I didn't know any Mexican songs so I asked him if he knew anything by the Gipsy Kings, Spanish group, he said know but said he would sing "My Way" by Frank Sinatra in Spanish, he has a great voice, sang it very well I thought Smile
