@chai2,

I looked in the pot and asked her what they were...

She said, "brains"

For some reason that reminded me of being 6 or 7 and a neighbor (the son-in-law of the woman who was attempting to teach me how to play the piano), called me into the kitchen and delightedly, took the lid off a pan and showed me the snails he was cooking. I was not impressed - or interested. They were rather weird looking. Maybe my subconscious thunk them to look like brains.

Back in the day I'd eat them with no qualms. Now....I don't think I could put them in my mouth.

@chai2,
I can't stand them Razz

We’re eating out tonight because neither of us have time to cook.

Last night I made garlic breaded shrimp with a creamy white wine sauce over penne pasta with spinach and diced tomatoes. Easy to make and everyone enjoyed it.

One day I just might become a gourmet chef.

@jcboy,
Do your kids eat at school or do you make them lunch?

@chai2,
Usually Elena makes them lunch, she helps us out with the kids.

They don't like the cafeteria food! Cool

@jcboy,
I guess not! All that garbage and chemicals

No comparison with what Elena gives them I'm sure.

@chai2,
Not nearly as healthy as Elena's lunch,

Last night I made cod with a pretzel breading, crispy potatoes and green beans. Tonight we’re going out but tomorrow I will be making my Sunday sauce again.

@ehBeth,
I like making homemade pizza, better than most you can buy.

I’m just starting my Sunday sauce, port ribs, beef and veal meatballs. This time I decided to make some Italian braciole to toss in. Following this recipe.

@ehBeth,
Yesterday I made a white cheddar cheese potato chicken soup from scratch. Chicken stock, cream, white cheddar cheese, chicken, celery and onion. It was delicious.

@chai2,
500 miles South of the US/Mexican border. Had the best matzo ball soup and chopped liver & hard boiled egg on a bagel.

Creamed spinach on the side, so not kosher.

What a world, huh?

@chai2,
our asparagu is giving us a bounty of nice thick spears. I have several plants well covered in straw piles so we have a nice batch of white spers. They have a milder taste but not much different than that. Sorta like Antoines in Nawlins used to make em.

and BLT's, a pretty simpl evening meal.

Bed of arugula and butter lettuce (missing romaine!!)
Topped with sautéed portobello mushrooms, onion, and broccoli
Topped with sunny side up eggs.
Chiffonaded basil from my pet, Basil.

Scrumptious.
