@ehBeth,
We’re staying home tonight and the kids want spaghetti and meatballs for dinner.

Last night Elena watched the kids so the Puerto Rican and I could go out to dinner. Nice restaurant in Laguna. I had the blackened red snapper. I forgot to order it without that lousy pico de gallo, it if wasn’t for that it would have been delicious.

@ehBeth,
Last night all of us went out to our favorite Mexican restaurant, the one that has a different soup every night. Last night it was potato poblano, delicious as usual. I like their little chili verde tacos too.

Tonight we’re staying home and will have some pan fried steaks, beef rice and a vegi.

Tomorrow I’m making the Sunday sauce with beef and veal meatballs, going to toss in some pork ribs in the sauce and let it simmer all day!

@ehBeth,
My wife visited San Jose’s J-town today with her sister, so she bought some sushi for dinner.

@jcboy,
My wife fixed trout for dinner, but I really didn't like it, and left it after one taste. Sorry, hon.

@cicerone imposter,
I made fish too, and put it down the disposal.

Guess it just wasn’t a fish day.

I did eat the okra and tomatoes though

@chai2,
We always have room for one more as long as you're potty trained Razz

Check out the teriyaki salmon over rice with a nice salad I made last night. Tonight it's taco Tuesday so we're going out!

@cicerone imposter,
I could never open a restaurant. I don’t have the time to be running a business and raising three kids and a Puerto Rican. Besides I only like cooking for them Razz

Last night I made chicken parmesan over angel hair pasta and the same salad we had the other night.

They love my chicken parm!

Well, we're going to have chicken drum sticks, carrots, green beans and salad....

We'd be having them now except that I somehow turned the oven off 5 minutes into the cook time, and they are still raw. Laughing

Good thing we already snacked on some cucumbers in avocado oil and balsamic vinegar, with a little Kerry Gold cheese.

@jcboy,
I think it's wonderful you have introduced a wide variety of food to your children. Too many parents cave to reluctant children and train them to be picky eaters and the kids wind up on a diet of hotdogs and peanut butter. (because it's easier)

@glitterbag,
When I was a child, we went out to eat once a week, to a nice place.

None of this "kids menu" stuff with hot dogs and peanut butter sandwiches. You ordered off the regular menu.

I remember asking what vichyssoise was, and my mother said "cold potato soup"
Well, that didn't sound so bad. I was imagining what we had at home, which was beef broth (hot), with chunks of potato.

When it arrived, I was surprised it was creamed. I took one spoonful and realized "Ack"

No scene was made, it was ok I didn't want it. I mean, how would I know unless I tried it?

I think that experience made me feel free for trying many different foods. I didn't have to like it, just try it.

@glitterbag,
Thank you,

You won’t find any hotdogs in this house. Razz

Last night we had steak caprses. Herbed potatoes, mozzarella cheese and tomatoes. Easy pezy to make.

Tonight we are having dinner out, not sure where we’re going yet.
