@Dutchy,
Now whenever it’s Morgan’s turn to cook he calls and says he’s stuck in traffic and has to pick up something on his way home. I’m guessing he hasn’t conquered his fear of the electric stove.

I'm someone who was a hopeless cook and am now actually functional, if not outstanding. Mark Bittman really helped (as did various A2K'ers!), I highly recommend him.

@MMarciano,
I get his point. Electric stove? Given the other flying expenses, why not gas?

@ossobuco,
The gas line is on the other side of the house but he would still have a problem with a gas stove, personally I think he's afraid of heat Wink

@ehBeth,
Bittman's videos good too. I'm not much of a food video watcher, give me a break, I avoid news videos too, just give me the text - but I like a few such, and Bittman is one of them. But I come at this as a long time cook with matters to reconsider, as in how dumb have I been, what could I change, what new is going on, not as a newbie.

So, for the newwie, JCBoy, I'd say look at Bittman for the text and the videos just about at the same time, or better, read, video, read, video, read, video, more than once. Antonio can watch too.

@ossobuco,
I think you are onto something, osso.

Antonio should video and provide commentary while he cooks.

could be a big hit reality series even...

@Rockhead,
I see where this is going and am all for it..
oh, wait. Some guy at the NYT started a column/blog on his kid as a cook and I clocked out.

But past that, I'd usually be interested. Some of us learned to cook because of parents who cooked, and some of us learned in self defense.

Spaghetti marinara tonight, I think.
I bought the ingredients at the market this morning. All I have to do is work up the inspiration to cook, after moving the grass (in just a minute) & completing a few other jobs I promised myself to get out of the way today.

@msolga,
Change of plan for tonight's dinner ....
A friend arrived in the middle of my lawn mowing effort with spinach triangles (from our favourite middle eastern bakery). We ate them. Delicious!
And just now I've eaten 2 dill pickles.
So tomorrow night for the marinara.
Maybe scrambled eggs, later tonight, if I get hungry again.

@Dutchy,
Tonight our friends Jarred and Cheryl invited us over for dinner. I hope their baby sleeps through it.

Tomorrow I am going grocery shopping and will be making Sunday dinner, my sister in law Isabel will be eating with us. I’m not sure what to make yet, I’ve never cooked for anyone but Marco and Antonio before, I’m afraid she may never come back.

I am in dessert mode....I'll try to make this one: it looks so inviting!
