Very Happy Been there, done that. A price I willingly pay to not always have to do the cooking.

I'm actually going to try a recipe that is written on the back of the parmagian cheese container. Orange roughy dipped in egg, coated with a mix of italian bread crumbs and parmigian cheese. Still have not decided on side dishes. Open for suggestions.

We had corned beef hash and fried eggs, and biscuits - It is one of my husbands favorites - not mine though, that does happen every once in a while doesn't it?

we had an all veggie meal last night. potato slices baked in a pan and drizzled with olive oil and Campbells onion soup mix; also asparagus with a vinegar based sauce (Mrs F made it) and some home grown (last yeas crop) of butter beans.

I could eat meatless a few times a week , just none of those bagged frozen vegetable "Medleys" they are just **** in a baggy.

wonderfully warm and sunny day in eastern ontario today .
after we came home from the morning swim , we had a bowl of cereal , fruit and yoghurt and decided to take a drive into the country .
we steered into the usual direction "prince edward county"- also called "quinte isle" , a sort of peninsula/isle juttting out into lake ontario .
we had lunch at "the doctor's house" - the former residence of a country doctor that has been developed into an inn , winery , cottage resort and cookery school .
we mixed and matched : a clam chowder , beer batterd cod and a tasty brown-ale steak and mushroom pie .
for dessert we shared a large - and sinful Shocked - slice of milk-chocolate-expresso cake with creme fraiche and dark chocolate curls and a large pot of tea .
it's already 6 pm and i'm not ready for the evening sandwich yet - it pays to have a good lunch Laughing .

We just had a first for the spring season. Shad roe wrapped in bacon and sauteed in butter . Served with a mild lime mayonnaise sauce.
This was accompanied by steamed fresh asparagus just from our garden . Our asparagus is acomin in fast. Except for the side effect, asparagus is among my top three veggies (along with fresh artichokes and fresh corn on the cob). The shad run is just beginning and it looks like it may be good this year after last years decline in spawning shad numbers

Smoked three baby back racks on the Weber yesterday until they were so tender I had trouble getting them off the grill.

Tonight, spaghetti with italian sausage and ragu.

Here piggy piggy.

Homemade chicken noodle soup with shallots, scallions, carrots, celery, half and half, little bit of butter, and green chile salsa, plus some of the pan juice from the roasting of the chicken with, oh, fifteen garlic cloves, simmered with spaghetti pieces.
