Chicken smothered in onions, peppers and mushrooms over rice last night. Tonight lasagna with enough leftover for tomorrow too (hopefully).
Stir fried garlic/soy/wine marinated beef with some onions and green peppers, but mostly green beans, with hot black bean sauce. I suppose I'll do some rice too.
Hit the new mom and pop Mex joint across the parkin lot.
Fresh tamales, and a chicken enchilada.
Went to Sarah's in The Annex before Brenda Lee and I went to a concert (another fabulous story).
I had a spicy beef shawarma with pickled turnip and all the good sides. I still stink of onion and garlic.
Someone better kiss me quick, before it wears off.
Love love Lebanese and Syrian food.
still had a good chunk of the trout from yesterday - but served with panfried potatoes

and the works .
best part of the trout is the crisply fried skin - with a curry dipping sauce .
We had our Valentine's Day dinner on Friday (less crowded the day after).
Went to "Catch" in Winchester MA. I love this place!
I had Salt Roasted Clams as an appetizer. Much less salty than the name
would imply, with a topping of chorizo bread crumbs, oregano and lemon.
For a main course: Pan Seared Maine Scallops. They were presented like
mushrooms with the scallop as the stem, celery root puree base, and
capped with braised rib ravioli. Around the base were roasted soybeans and
roasted diced pineapple. Drizzle of curry oil.
For dessert I had the chocolate souffle cake. It was topped with a marzipan
cup filled with white chocolate mousse.
I finished off with a Sambuca and a side shot of espresso.
A waxed bucket and a liter of diet pepsi.
Ok I lied.
George... now THAT was a meal.
I had day #2 of hammered and marinated flank steak with hot black bean sauce and green beans. Flames coming out of my ears.
oven-roasted NZ leg of lamb - slowly simmered in portwine  , mashed ,
chinese cabbage , side salad , colelaw , V 8
Birthday dinner for Hermione last night at an old family favorite, Ristorante
Molise in Wakefield MA.
I had "Polenta alla Molise". The polenta is cut up into cubes and lightly fried.
It is served in a bowl with chicken, Italian sausage (sweet), Roma tomatoes,
green peppers, and onions. There's also a bit of garlic and Romano cheese
in the mix. The sauce is a light tomato wine sauce. Hearty fare and in a
large portion. This will not help my weight loss program a bit.
onion soup, lobster rolls, macadamian encrusted chicken.
Out with friends to a favourite old-skool joint on the Danny (Sanka's on the menu

)
I had ribs'n'wings with salad. Set had a cheeseburger plate special (chicken soup and fries came along with it).
Our gang was at the table so long - and had their tea and coffee topped up so often that they had to charge for extra (but they only charged for 2 extra coffees for the whole table).
Soup tonight. Tomato & lentil. With onion, pancetta, celery & garlic. Plus some slices of grilled Italian sausage thrown in right towards the end of cooking. Served with fresh basil leaves. Rather nice!
Soup to be described later. Starting with last night's soup, a tomato garlic carrot celery chicken broth capellini sausage concoction, and
adding to the leftovers,
two fat tablespoons roasted red bell pepper all purpose sauce from Santa Fe Ole, which is said to include red bell peppers, water, sherry wine, red wine vinegar, onion, garlic, and spices.
more broth
more capellini
Some deli marinated cooked butterbeans
some leftover bacon from D & D's.
And probably more spinach leaves.
cauliflower is steaming
onions, oyster mushrooms, baby bok choy ends and North African lamb sausage are melding together in a saute pan
I'm not entirely sure where I'm going with this - but it smells dang good so far
