Considering potato-leek soup with chorizo for tonight.

Muttering - so many options it feels like no options.

We did walk to the grocery store through the snow yesterday and picked up some veggies. Makes everything seem better.

I made (two) racks of lamb with au gratin potatoes and stir fried bok choi.

When I went to serve it I discovered we had no mint sauce or jelly. Fortunately a gift from a friend of homemade lavender jelly worked just fine.

Actually, it is. But I have never done it. Big horn sheep, Dall sheep, Marco Polo sheep are all hunted (mostly the rams).

Two of my favorites. Simply, marinated then grilled venison chops. Two: Venison wellington. Seared tenderloin covered with a liver pate spread, wrapped in puff pastry, baked until medium rare. You really have to like liver, to attempt this on a tenderloin.
Didn't get out this year. I'm lucky enough to have a neighbor whose family dislikes venison. How about you?

I overshot three does during archery season and never saw a buck during firearms season.

I need to practice with my bow.

I like liver, especially smoked liver pate/liverwurst. Sounds good to me!

I once had a few friends and family members bring different wild game dishes to my house. Everybody pitched in, and we had a wild arrangement of exotic dishes. Mine and my brother in laws venison wellington was tied for first with a friends duck. Now that I'm thinking about it, that's something I should do again.

I did get a few grouse last year. One of them was particularly fat, almost as big as a store bought chicken. Coated in Drake's and baked. Good stuff.

I use Drakes on perch. That stuff has been around a long time. Never had grouse.

"Chefs platter": One hard shell taco, one soft shell taco, one meat and cheese burrito, one chicken and cheese enchilada, one tostada,....and beans and rice. Comes with soup or salad, or an eight inch cheese nacho. I go for the nacho, covered with jalapenos. I usually don't feel too good after that, but, it's worth it.
