Amazing Fish Soup -

lessee...

fish stock, water, a few tablespoons of marinara sauce;
one onion chopped and roasted in olive oil; a bunch of minced garlic;
a slice of red cabbage, chopped;
1/3 pound of semolina spaghetti in 1 to 2" pieces;
a little bit of pickled jalapeno slices; all this simmered...

then, into the pot,
a tin of herring bites in hot Louisiana sauce, including the sauce;
leftovers from a sauteed tofu effort of mine, involving italian spices (that had tasted both good and weird to me, as I'm used to tofu with a more asian dressing); more water to dilute a bit...

mmmm, good. Had some for "brunch" today too.

I kid you not. It was only very small amounts of each though! But I did feel like I was gonna explode.

Msolga - How was the Thai red pumpkin curry by the way?

Somebody made me a Thai red chicken curry the other night but it was horrid. It was with one of those Lloyd Grossman sauces. Bleurrrrggghhh!

It was rather good, Dorothy.
Only problem was the eggplant was taking too long to cook (thick skin) & I had to whip it out of the curry & the 11th hour, microwave it, then put it back in the curry!
The alternative would not have been very enjoyable!

Enjoy your egg & chips & say "G'day" to Nana for me, OK? Very Happy

Yeah, how was the veg curry, Dorothy?

Hello, Sarah, a nice surprise to see you here! Very Happy

Me tonight: sort of a poached chicken (breast) dish, with lemon grass, lightly sauteed red onion, chili,coriander, ginger & turmeric ... served on a bed of steamed Jasmine rice. One of my fall-back, meal in a hurry dishes.

Followed by a few chunky slices of cantaloupe, which could have been a wee bit riper, for my liking!

Hi Msolga!

That sounds nice...

I plan on having a chicken chiabatta (hot) sandwich, smothered in onions and cherry tomatoes for dinner.
