@Advocate,
Maybe you cling to a false hope, but I think its been obvious for a very long time which party will do what, and what Obama will do. Essentially nothing, except as I said once before, send ACORN in to sign up all the illegals as possible, and to open up the flood gates even more. The Democrat Party is an open borders party, face it.

Criminy, Advocate, this is what Obama does, thats where he came from, that is his philosophy as an agitator, malcontent, community organizer and all the rest. You don't think he sat in that church for 20 years listening to Wright spewing hatred about how the whites and Jews have dumped on minorities, stolen this country, and all the rest of his hate filled diatribe for nothing, do you? When are you going to wake up and smell the coffee, as Ann Landers used to say? I still marvel at how easy it was for Obama to fool so many people into believing he was somebody he wasn't.

@okie,
okie even fears what is practically an impossible task; to have illegals voting in elections. The registrar of voters must verify each voter with their address and signature. How does illegals get that info? DUH!

It's quite depressing, isn't it? There are over 1 billion Muslims in the world and this is a problem not only in Denmark. In England, they are influencing education, in France, the government's policies, in India they are fighting Hindus, in Pakistan they are causing havoc. It looks as if the strict Danish immigration policy will be copied in many, if not most, Western countries, including ours.

apparently some on the right believe that obama "the most saviourest messiah of all time" has weekly coven meetings with ACORN to scheme and plot the downfall of america and all christendom.

****. i have to admit, the right has really come up with the right issues to nail obama with:

1) "obama is the messiah" oddly, i've never heard anyone that likes obama call him that. must be that reverse psychology thingy.

2) ACORN. nothing else. just say the word and you can feel the satanic power coursing through your vein. doesn't it give you the urge to do something completely unnatural to a squirrel?? ahhhhhhhh.....A-CORNnnnnn..

3) and the most insidious of all..... "telllleprompter". it is the only way that the messiah can speak his satanic, socialist, muslim, ACORN messages to the throngs of illegals that he will enthrall for his personal militia; which he will send out any day now to take your guns and shut down conservative talk radio. with wmal at the top of the list. aa heh, heh, heh, hehhhhhh...

and when he's not using the teleprompter to bewitch your children, he uses it to watch state sanctioned and produced porn flicks; like the one where keith olbermann really gives the gals of fox news a "liberal going over". yeah...baby!

so really, ci, scoff at these warning signs at your own peril.

No way in Hell! In the last general election in NM, they didn't require or even want either voter registration card or state issued id. You gave them your name, found yourself on their list, and voted. Period.

@roger,
roger, Who is to blame for that weakness in the voter registration system in New Mexico?

@cicerone imposter,
I have no idea. It is what it is, and you might have picked up on the idea that I'm not precisely in favor of it.

@Advocate,
This is a rant against legal immigrants.

Keeping out "undesirable" ethnic groups is always at the core of anti-immigrant extremism.

@cicerone imposter,
Nice link. Registration requirements don't mean a whole lot, though, if I can show up at your polling place, tell them my name is ciserone imposter, initial the list, and go vote without identification of any sort.

@ebrown p,
I am in contact with a Muslim group, and will inform them that you are very willing to sponsor their immigrants, and even provide temporary housing.

We should be very selective, as are other countries, in who we allow to immigrate to our country, allowing in only those who are self-sufficient and who have skills that will help our country. We already have 300 M people and are quite filled. We are in decline, which will only be accelerated should we let in hoards of poor, uneducated, and unskilled immigrants, legal or not.

We should quickly complete the wall on our southern border.

Unfortunately, the country has too many morons like yourself who are happy to let anyone in.

@Advocate,
You do know the difference between legal and illegal immigration, right?

@ebrown p,
Except for YOU, Mr Brown-Munoz, everyone else on this thread is entirely clear on the difference between LEGAL and ILLEGAL.

This perpetual whining and bleating rant of "racism!" on your part is truly tiresome.

@roger,
If they don't follow what are registration and voting regulations, it's up to the person in charge to enforce them. If they don't enforce regulations, who's fault is it?

Point is, it is not "practically an impossible" task for illegals to vote in an election. Our poll watchers were enforcing the regulations (or lack of regulations) they were given. That really is the point.

@roger,
But there are always regulations in place that should be followed for registering and voting. If illegals are able to vote in our elections, it's because those in charge are not doing their jobs.

Nothing is full-proof from fraud; even banks get taken.

If you're looking for perfection, you're not going to find it in anything that has to do with economics or politics (and most everything else).

THE U.S IS LOSING VALUABLE FOREIGN GRADUATE STUDENTS
............................................................................................................
within the last three years BUSINESS WEEK has published several articles pointing out that america is losing many foreign graduate students .
business week claims that not attracting these graduates to stay in america , is hurting the american economy .
apparently many graduates say that obtainung a visa is difficult if not impossible , and they now prefer to go back to their home countries or other countries were their talents are being welcomed .

see for full article :

http://www.businessweek.com/technology/content/mar2009/tc20090318_162454.htm

Quote:
Why the U.S. Is Losing Foreign Graduates
A new report says foreign science and engineering graduates are leaving the U.S. to start companies at home. Could a U.S. policy fix keep them here?
By Moira Herbst

Foreign students who graduate from U.S. universities with degrees in science and engineering are increasingly leaving the U.S. to pursue job opportunities in their home countries, according to a report released on Mar. 19. The report, called "Losing the World's Best and Brightest," warns that "the departure of these foreign nationals could represent a significant loss for the U.S. science and engineering workforce, where these immigrants have played increasingly larger roles over the past three decades."

Duke University Professor Vivek Wadhwa, one of the report's authors, says the U.S. should be trying to keep foreign graduates in the U.S. so they can create companies. "Rather than inciting populist sentiment against foreigners and fostering a new nativism, policymakers could instead provide incentive programs to encourage foreign immigrant entrepreneurship, perhaps pairing fast-track residency status with launching of companies," says Wadhwa. "This would help ensure that those who want to stay and start companies can do so."
.....
After finishing their studies, large numbers of foreign students have traditionally chosen to stay in the U.S. to work full-time or pursue postdoctoral work. But that dynamic appears to be changing, the report says. Of the survey respondents, very few would like to stay in the U.S. permanently; only 6% of Indian, 10% of Chinese, and 15% of Europeans. The largest group of respondents wants to return home within five years"45% of Indian, 40% of Chinese, and 30% of European students.

@cicerone imposter,
There are regulations in place in regard to registering. There are regulations in place in regard to voting. There seems to be a disconnect between the two. Illegals, or legal immigrants and workers, can, in fact vote, if they can come up with a legitimate registered voter's name within the precinct. If they show up before you do, and initial your name - well, it looks like you've got a problem.
