Interesting facts!

From the L.A. Times
1. 40% of all workers in L.A. County ( L.A. County has 10.2 million people) are working for cash and not paying taxes. This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants working without a green card.

2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.

3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles ARE illegal aliens

4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans On Medi-Cal, whose births were paid for by taxpayers.

5. Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention
Centers are Mexican nationals here illegally .

6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.

7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles
Are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.

8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.

9. 21 radio stations in L.A. Are Spanish speaking.

10. In L.A. County 5.1 million people speak English,
3.9 million speak Spanish. There are 10.2 million people in L.A. County
All of the above are from the Los Angeles Times
Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops, but 29% are on welfare.
Over 70% of the United States ' annual population growth
(over 90% of California , Florida , and New York ) results from immigration.

29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens.
We are a bunch of fools for letting this continue.

HOAX, none of the above post is true. Advocate, if you're going to post ****, make it obscure enough that it's not easily discovered.

This is fear mongering using racial stereotypes.

It wasn't that long ago that people were getting all riled up about gangs of African-American youths who were allegedly the result of welfare fraud, drug use by African Americans and lax law enforcement (i.e. prison furloughs and the fact were weren't using capital punishment)

Yes tt used to be African Americans who were portrayed as commiting crimes, using taxpayer dollars illegally (you must remember the "welfare mom" and "Cadillac mom" slurs).

It is funny how the right wing just recycles the same old crap to attack illegal people (and Hispanics) that they did to attack African Americans.

These are lies... Advocate... and it is easy to prove they are false.

They work because the victims of these slurs are people of color-- and every one knows that colored people are prone to crime.

I have always hoped that someday as a society would get beyond using racially-based stereotypes...

You know advocate, I once posted an article I believed at the time to be true. I discovered it was not so I posted an apology and let it go at that without needing to attack someone else. You might try that.

ebrown, You hit th enail on the head; it's fear mongering at its worst.
People don't seek to realize that their fears based on race/culture is wrong on the face of it. I see it as a sickness.

when i came from germany to canada in the 50's i was hired by an insurance company with the name of EMPIRE LIFE as a junior supervisor .
after i had worked there for a few months , the accountant who'd befriended me , told me how lucky i was to be accepted since i was neither anglo-scottish nor protestant .
i fairly soon found out that many companies hired based on either or both racial background and religion !
the bank of montreal in those days was staffed mostly by catholics - at least in managerial positions !
the local golf and country club excluded jews from membership , even though there were many well to do jewish merchants , doctors and scientists in town ! the club finally decided to accept jews when they ran into financial difficulties and needed members with deep pockets !

around 1900 many toronto businesses advertised : NO ENGLISH NEED APPLY ! (many of the merchants were of scottish background and didn't like the idea of employing english lowlife !) .
the fear of FOREIGNERS is as old as mankind !

Okay, this is the official list of full-power, FCC-licensed radio stations in Los Angeles. Some are English or English only, but cjhsa certainly easily could name the 121 Spanish.

snopes=The number of Spanish-language radio stations in Los Angeles varies a bit from source to source (and according to how one defines "Los Angeles"), but according to Los Angeles Almanac, if both AM and FM stations are counted, and all programming formats (e.g., music, news, talk, religion, sports) are included, then it's fair to say that there are about 20 "Spanish speaking" radio stations in Los Angeles.
But way to go shiksa, don't let reality get in the way of your agenda.

It is amusing that people who oppose illegal immigration make Spanish such an issue-- especially when the reason they say they are not racists is because they are just upholding the law.

Spanish is not illegal.

Not only is Spanish legal, but many forget the basic rights of free speech when their brains are fried with racism.

That's an interesting response. Especially when looking at your next

Before we can do any "interpreting" of facts we must KNOW the facts.

So, HS, how many were living in the Americas when the Mayflower arrived? How do you get the figures for what is now the USA?

Do you compare them? To the number of "whites"? To the Spaniards?

What about those numbers published for the 15th century (between 8.4 million to a high of 112.5 million persons)?

Walter - since I posted a link to my statistical source, namely to the Bureau of Indian Affairs (a federal agency) you'd be well advised to follow up with them, not me, if you disagree with their population numbers.

But when it comes to dogs, you're on your own!

There have been demonstrations in front of the court house, cleared court rooms, many thousands of calls and e-mails to the Governor's office, a blizzard of blogs and assorted death threats to the judge. New legislation ("Congo's Law") aims to refine the concept of provocation.

The case has even taken on overtones of privilege and class. The white well-to-do family in an upscale area versus a gardener who, it was reported, is here illegally.

Nice that you play the race card against people who care about their homeland. Obviously you don't.

To be honest, I hope you get arrested at a pro-illegal alien rally, get thrown in jail, and butt r****d by one of those you are trying so hard to help. Maybe then you'd see the light.

Keep throwing out the race card in an argument that has nothing to do with race and I'm going to keep pointing out what a loser you are.

Loser.

BTW, we need more loose cannons to run over the stupid liberals that keep running forward with white flags.

Well, cjhsa, if you only care about your homeland, you shouldn't have a problem with some millions ofhard working American citizens or legal residents who refuse to speak English, establish Spanish language radio stations, TV stations, newspapers etc. or run a business where only Spanish is spoken.

You seem to be saying that your only concern is that people are staying in the States illegally.

Speaking Spanish, on the other hand, is perfectly legal. Even insisting on having official papers issued in Spanish is perfectly legal. English is not the official language of the United States, after all.

Therefore it seems weird that on the one hand, you're constantly agitating against people who speak Spanish for no other reason than that they speak Spanish, but on the other hand resent being called a racist.

Ya ever get in an elevator with a bunch of Muslims ranting on in Farsi? Did it make you wonder?

The fact that English isn't the official language here is a national disgrace, and is ruining our school systems.
