First, for the record, I am an American citizen. You might not know this, but there are many American citizens who have Hispanic surnames... many of whom lived in the land now called the US for hundreds of years.

Second, there are millions of American citizens (including many with non-Hispanic heritage) who hold my opinions about immigrants and immigration.

Third if I were an illegal immigrant, I would still be a human being. I would still have the right to post on A2K and to argue my opinion.

Different people have different viewpoints on any topic, and if you could accept the humanity of "illegal immigrants" enough to listen to what they said; and if you could understand what they have gone through and what they hope. for you might just learn something.

A closed mind will cause you to hold to your beliefs without having to consider the point of view of people who you dislike or disagree with.

But it doesn't matter. I am an American citizen-- and your willingness to attack my character rather than respond to my point of view has nothing to do with who I am....
