I guess she is to important to be bothered with a little thing like rules or official policy and procedure.

http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/03/29/mckinney.scuffle.ap/index.html

"WASHINGTON (AP) -- Rep. Cynthia McKinney and a police officer scuffled Wednesday after the Georgia Democrat entered a House office building unrecognized and refused to stop when asked, according to U.S. Capitol Police.

McKinney, a six-term congresswoman who represents suburban Atlanta, struck the officer according to one account, a police official said, adding there were conflicting accounts of exactly what happened. The officer, who was not authorized to speak publicly about the incident, spoke only on condition of anonymity.

McKinney's office did not immediately return a call for comment.

Members of Congress do not have to walk through metal detectors as they enter buildings on the Capitol complex. They wear lapel pins identifying them as members.

McKinney routinely doesn't wear her pin and is recognized by many officers, the police official said, adding that she wasn't wearing it when she entered a House office building early Wednesday.

By one police account, she walked around a metal detector and an officer asked her several times to stop. When she did not, the officer tried to stop her, and she then struck the officer, the official said."

So here we have a member of the party that supposedly cares about the working man, attacking a man for doing his job.

Here is Fox News report on the same story...

At least she didn't drunkenly shoot him in the face. Did the officer later apologize for all the trouble he'd put her through?

What a thoughtless woman. I wonder if she, like othe dems, believe them to be "above" the working class. People like Kerry and Kennedy... the scum that binds up the political system.

Yes, where are all the high-minded protectors of the working class like Abramoff and DeLay when you need them?

Oh, that's right. In prison or under indictment.

The Screwing of Cynthia McKinney

By Greg Palast, AlterNet. Posted July

More stories by Greg Palast

Have you heard about Cynthia McKinney, former U.S. Congresswoman?

According to those quoted on National Public Radio, McKinney?s ?a loose cannon? (media expert) who ?the people of Atlanta are embarrassed and disgusted? (politician) by, and she is also ?loony? and ?dangerous? (senator from her own party).

Yow! And why is McKinney dangerous/loony/disgusting? According to NPR, ?McKinney implied that the [Bush] Administration knew in advance about September 11 and deliberately held back the information.?

The New York Times? Lynette Clemetson revealed her comments went even further over the edge: ?Ms. McKinney suggest[ed] that President Bush might have known about the September 11 attacks but did nothing so his supporters could make money in a war.?

That?s loony, all right. As an editor of the highly respected Atlanta Journal Constitution told NPR, McKinney?s ?practically accused the President of murder!?

Problem is, McKinney never said it.

That?s right. The ?quote? from McKinney is a complete fabrication. A whopper, a fabulous fib, a fake, a flim-flam. Just freakin? made up.

Extremely Sad News
The death of Michael Zebuhr:
Michael Zebuhr didn't intervene when two men stole his mother's purse, but one of the men shot him anyway. The 25-year-old Buckhannon resident and recent Davis & Elkins College died a day later.

According to reports, Zebuhr and his mother, Dr. Suzanne Strong of Virginia, were in Minneapolis visiting Zebuhr's sister, a student at the University of Minnesota, when the shooting took place at about 9:55 p.m. Saturday.

Inspector Kris Arneson of the Minneapolis Police Department's Fifth Precinct said the family trio and a friend were approached by two male subjects as they were returning to their vehicle following dinner at a restaurant in the Uptown area.

Reports indicate that the suspects demanded Strong's pursue which she was turned over without resistance. One of the suspects then shot Zebuhr in the head for no apparent reason, officials said.

First of all, here is her statement, from her website, about the incident...

http://www.house.gov/apps/list/press/ga04_mckinney/incidentstmt.html

Now,I notice that those on the left seem to be applauding the fact that she struck the officer,or that it was somehow his fault.
Why is that?

Hmm, maybe she should have taken the Republican high road and paid the officer for special treatment with, say, a yacht or a nice home in San Diego...

Could you point us to the evidence of "applause," MM . . . it doesn't seem all that apparent to me. Just because people consider your latest screed to be tempest in a teapot material doesn't authorize a contention that anyone has applauded her.

Stop makin' sh!t up . . .

And she should be.
She assaulted an officer.
I notice her lawyer is immediately playing the race card.

I wonder why she thinks she is so important that she can ignore the rules about capitol security.
I hope she gets the 5 years.

She should take a cue from this administration and claim it was a preemptive assault. That seems to excuse everything.

McKinney was not recognized as a member of Congress. Race could very well be an issue, why wasn't she recognized? Don't they all look alike?

mm is coming unhinged over a minor battery. 5 years? LOL

Objection: Assumes facts not in evidence, to wit, that he wasn't unhinged prior to making a mountain out of this particular molehill... Laughing
