Petty annoyance but it's making me insane.

Ya know swimpy, not for nothing, but my boss went thourgh chemo and radiation a few months back, and only had a few really bad days over the weeks/months of therapy.

Of course every persons experience is different, but there's a certain type of person who, as you said, really milks it.

Is she sleepin' with the boss?

Or maybe have some goods on him?

I say sabotage is in order.

That's the thing, Chai. Unless someone is asking her to do something, she seems fine. It certainly hasn't affected her appetite. (Bad Swimpy!)

We often remark that she must have the constitution of a horse. But as soon as there is any pressure to perform her job, she says she's really sore or tired or something.

The sad thing is that we had learned to accept that she is who she is. We'd all adapted and taken on her job responsibilities to the point where she really has none. Then the temp started. She's great. There's such a stark contrast that it's hard to ignore. she immediately picked up on what the job duties were. K's been here three years and still pretends not to know what her jobs duties are.

I'm going to talk to the boss this afternoon. For what good that will do. We've been through this many times already.

You know, she sounds a lot like this receptionist that worked at one of our clinics.

It was the same thing, you just got tired of pointing out to her what her duties were, and just accepted that she was going to pick and choose what she wanted to do.

Enventually, thank God, she decided her talents were being wasted there and applied for another job.

I can still remember getting a phone call from a co-worker, who said she'd just gotten a reference request phone call on her. My co-worker said "I told them she was really great and they were lucky to get her."

Anything to get rid of her.

I've got a Saintly Suffering Martyr in Mr. Noddy's immediate family and when I'm a widow, she's one of the first people I'm going to abandon.
I have no talent for Admiring Misery when the Misery is perpetually expressed with gasps and sighs and the occasional brave tear.

Went in and talked to the boss. He says all the right things. He's very good at that. I have no faith that he will be able to get her to change. He has to start disciplinary action or she will never take him seriously. He said he'd talk to her. I 'm not holding my breath.

Swimpy--

Unfortunately you have to work beside her five days a week to earn your paycheck. My Suffering Specialist is only a part-time irritant.
