How can someone be a racist for disagreeing with a set of ideas?

Being anti Islam no more makes one a racist than being anti communist or anti authoritarian.

One of the few things I like about Islam is that it is not racist. You should not assume that people who oppose a set of ideas which in themselves are non-racist, must therefore be racists.

I oppose Islam because I find many of its strictures thoroughly detestable, not because many of its followers tend to have brown/dark faces.
