Roberta - don't you dare! has a little effect but she has less respect for himself! ..... but then he doesn't always appreciate that scruffling her tummy in passing is not appreciated

I like this one as well

both Rosie and Paddy used to love to fight loo rolls when they were younger

Mikey had battle royals with a roll of paper towels. He usually won. As for toilet paper, as a kitten, he used to grab one end and run around the house with it. (I'm smiling.)

Either image would be a good avatar, although I have to admit that I'm partial to the one you have.

ours sort of fought it and scratched and chewed it to unusable shreds Evil or Very Mad

I'll probably keep the same one here and use that elsewhere

How'd they get up there?!?!

littlek, we have a piece of carpet screwed to wall. So they climb up the wall and over onto the beams. The picture that shows only Nisse is our bedroom. There they climb up the book shelves and walk on top of the door. It is amazing!

This is the one you've all been waiting for:

MSOlga's new manager:

Here's Miss Poppy!

It took the combined efforts of 2 of us - in 2 states, to get her here!

A stunner, msolga. And one look at that face, and we know who's in charge.

Why me, of course, Roberta! Always! Laughing

That's her "why are you pointing that implement which flashes at me?"-look for margo. Who was attempting to photograph her dozing on the couch. Actually she's bossy only at meal times, when I'm a bit slow about doing my duty! She's actually a beautifully-natured sweetie-pie. Very Happy

Not bad for a "rescue" from a shelter that they were worried about find a home for, I reckon! Very Happy

In a few months she will have lived here for a year & will be four years old, going by the shelter's estimate of her age.

Cute cat, caribou!

MsOlga gave me instructions about which pic to post, but I selected the wrong one first - so - two for the price of one!

She is a cutie-pie - and allowed me to pick her up for a bit (that probably should read "tolerated") and presented belly for rubbing!

All of my cats have been rescues. They've all been wonderful in their own ways. They all owned me, except for Patty who was owned by Miranda and who didn't own anybody.

I'm glad that Poppy is such a sweetie. You're entitled.

Caribou. Love that face and that ear.

Poppy is just gorgeous.

Now, that one that Caribou just posted reminds me of the neighborhood back when I was in high school. The thing was outright viscous, and totally deaf. Walk around that critter if it's sunning itself on the sidewalk. That was one cat you didn't want to startle.

Yes, there's something very good & satisfying about connections between "rescued" critters & their new owners.
Everyone wins when it turns out for the best.
I wonder, will I ever have a brand-new, previously un-owned feline? Probably not. This seems to be the established way things are now & that's just fine.

Caribou

Now there's a critter with character! Very Happy

margo

I was very surprised that Ms Poppy allowed that tummy rub. Not every single anyone is allowed that privilege, you know!
She must has smelt the Possum-scents on you!

You're going to have to explain that in more detail, Roberta.:

"Patty ... was owned by Miranda and who didn't own anybody."

Now that is a very interesting state of feline affairs!

More detail, please!

And how did you fit into this picture?

I'm certain that your input was critical in this situation!

I adopted Miranda from the ASPCA. She was about 6 months old. I had her for a few years. She was in complete control of me and her environment. I thought she might want a friend. I contacted an organization called Save Our Strays. A woman had a litter of kittens that had been saved from drowning. The kittens were six weeks old. She arrived at my apartment with the entire litter and let all the sweet little kittens loose in the apartment with Miranda, who was not happy about the intrusion. Miranda was under the bed making leonine noises. The kittens wandering into the bedroom. Miranda roared. The kittens darted out of the bedroom, except that Patty turned back to investigate. Her fate was sealed. I kept her.

She was Miranda's cat, who became her tormentor, mother, friend, and partner in crime. She was my cat once removed. Patty was the sweetest most lovable animal I have ever encountered.

The pecking order in my home was Miranda, me, and Patty. So back to my original statement. Miranda owned Patty and me. I owned Patty (once removed). And Patty didn't own anybody. Hope this clears things up.
