This is Zeus, he was adopted about a week ago, and seems to be quite a ham. He has taken a liking to my file folder, he'll slip off in it and play with my computer cords hanging nearby.

I don't have a clue how old he is, I'm guessing about 3 months maybe? He was definitely on the downhill slide a week ago, but a lil worm medication, and some nice food he has bounced back.

The funny thing about him is, he just seems so grateful to have a home. He doesn't bother anything, and is curious about it all....

Neko, The feline is gorgeous. But petit. Yes, everything in life is relative. Mikey is just a tad bigger than your guy.

Diane, Thrilled to hear about and see the new member of the family.

(Sorry if I'm a few pages (screens) behind. I'm playing catch-up, a bit at a time.)

BTW, Mikey is behaving. He was simply neglected, and he reacted agressively--the only way Mikey knows how to react. I'm making a point of paying attention and talking to him more. Poor little guy. What a year the two of us have had.

I'll do a bit more catching up manana. Good to see you all.

Oh that's a relief, Roberta! You really had us worried there for a bit!
But it's hard to be the perfect pet owner when your head is full of worry, worry, worry, isn't it? Yep, you two have not had an easy couple of years! Hopefully this yucky phase will come to an end ... & soon!

Thanks Msloga...

I hate to tell this..., but were not big cat fans, this is the second cat that we've had in 20 years. So..he needs to feel priveledged...lol

We've had more fun with this cat...we love to sit and watch him, to see what he'll do next. He's definitely gotten our attention...

Dante and Zeus. Two great-looking guys. Like the names, too.

I've often told Mikey that it's lucky for him he's cute. I can put up with a lot when I've got that face looking at me. What a shallow, superficial girl I am.

Thanks Roberta...

I have to tell this: The other day, I had a friends 14 year old daughter over here visiting, she asked me his name. When I told her, she drew a complete blank.

She mouthed the words, "Zeus??? along with the blank look on her face....

"Ya..you know, Greek God, God of Gods, Greece.....Ancient Greek Mythology...etc, etc...."

She still didn't know what I was talking about! Now, I'm staring at her with a blank look....

Do they not teach Ancient Greek Mythology in High School anymore?

Geez, mms...you'd think she would've at least seen the Disney version of Hercules.

Kids these days...can't even count on them to be Disney-literate. Laughing

Hate to tell you this, mms, but you've burnt you bridges, there's no turning back, you'll never be the same! You are becoming a <gasp> cat addict!! Laughing (& with very good reason, too!) Enjoy!

I don't believe a word of this, Roberta! (Apart from the bit about Mr Mikey being cute! Very Happy )

Littlek, he looks so beautiful and shiny there in the sun. Isn't wonderful to just sit and watch? That in itself is relaxing.

Misti--wow it's good to see you. I'd sort of forgotten how many great people are on the cat thread. How nice to be in such good company.

Dante and Sally are definitely friends now, if racing around the house, scaring each other is a sign of friendship and every cat and dog I've ever had have loved doing that very thing.

Hey!! There's my Raboida. Hi Boidy!! Mikey is not only cute, he knows just where your funny bone is located. What a guy, huge, cute, knows Boidy for the soft touch she really is.

MM, your little Zeus is adorable. The others are right, he has found a good home and you are forever doomed to being a cat addict.

Eva, I always enjoy your writing, but this time you have coined a perfect phrase for today's youngsters. Disney literate. My god, you should be honored at some big event for clever use of words.

Disney literate. Very funny yet also so sad in that it is true. Disney is about as much literature as kids get these day.

Glad that Dante and Sally are getting along. Someone needs to tell Dante that a paper bag is probably not the best place to hide. (Why do cats love paper bags?) Where is Fred amidst all this chasing and hiding? Does he run the show from some roost? When I had a boid and a dog in the same abode, the boid used to dive-bomb the poor dog. She'd swoop down, peck his head, and fly away. Love dem boids. And dogs. And cats.

Yep, Roberta, lucky cat, lucky us. It's as if he has been a member of the family for years.

Fred's position as the alpha male has not been challenged. Fred ferociously stands his ground, all 5 ounces of him. Between his screeches and his powerful bite, he is a venerable foe.
