Screech doesn't like being photographed, k? I find that strange considering what a photogenic critter he is! Very Happy

Nekochan is beautiful and simply well padded not fat

Screech is lovely

Our previous cats didn't much like having their photo taken but Rosie really plays up to the camera, little showoff. Paddy just treats it as nothing worth worrying about - like most things in life to him!

Vivien, the reason I have a special soft spot for Nekochan is that she is the absolute spitting image of my dear, departed Mozzie cat. (I know, I know, I've raved on about this before!) But the resemblance is uncanny. Every time I see her I go a bit gooey, I'm afraid ... I feel I know her, you see! Very Happy

Nah, screech doesn't care if he gets his pictures taken, I just thought it made for a funny caption. He kept a claw hooked in my camera strap through about a dozen photos.

Nekochan is well-padded? Geez, I'd hate to see a cat who went beyond well-padded to plain old fat! Cutie though......

Nekochan weighed in at twelve and one half pounds at the vet's
about three weeks ago, and he was delighted by her good health.
She's approximately sixteen years old . Maybe it's her stocky build
that could give an impression of being fat....

Anyway, msolga, I take it that Mozzie is a dear --"Mozzie-chan", I would say-- memory for you,
which Nekochan will be, all too soon, for Ms. Nomad and myself.

Did young Mozzie look like Nekochan at what I'd guess to be two years old in 1992:

I've gotten just about all her summer molt off now: what comes out
during her routine daily grooming now is just the usual pinch or two.

"Mozzie-chan". I like that, neko! Very Happy

Yes, her looks were very similar indeed & she was a demon of crazy energy & hi jinks at that wonderful cat age! Very Happy

I did it!! Meet Dante, a four year old chocolate point Siamese.

He was taken to the pound by his family because they were moving!! Gag. Luckily, there is an organization that saves unwanted cats and is no-kill. The lady who was his foster mommy said that she sometimes goes to the pound to resuce cats that will be killed. Dante, at four years old, was considered to old for adoption. They hadn't even neutered him because he was to be killed and they felt it would be a waste of money.

The organization, CARMA, took care of neutering and making sure he had all his shots before they let him be adopted.

He weighs a little over 13 pounds--a big, beautiful boy. He is very loving and laid back about almost everything. Even Sally, our Jack Russell terrier mix, can't get him to run away. At first, she didn't know what to do--she is very jealous and emotionally needy (another deserted animal). Dante just wanted to cuddle and rub her, which sort of freaked her out. After just two days, they are already becoming good friends.

Here's our handsome boy--it's too bad his blue eyes don't show up, but we will be taking more pics:

Diane, Dante is just beautiful!
And it sounds as though he has a delightful nature as well.
Well done, now your life is perfect! Very Happy

PS ... I can never understand why such an obviously beautiful creature could be considered "too old" for adoption. People are very strange, don't you think? Confused

Dante has taken to sleeping on the top of the cupboard above ther refridge with interludes of coming down and teasing Sally dog and eating her dog-food. I would say that after 4 days here Dante has adjusted to the conditions.

Dante doesn't even go near Fred's cage. I think Fred's screeches are so noisy that Dante figures that little loud-mouthed twerp isn't worth the effort. He also isn't too interested in going outside. So far, he's purrfect except that my allergies are going crazy. I already get allergy shots, so I think they will up the amount of cat dander in the shots. Allergy shots are a small price to pay for such a gorgeous, sweet-natured boy.

One other thing, our big boy has BIG poops. Thank heaven for clumping litter!

Beautiful Dante looks a lot like the several Siamese cats we had when my children were growing up. Can't wait to meet him.

Thanks to all of you for your compliments for Dante. He is such a sweet boy and I feel ridiculously like a proud mommy.

He has discovered the cabinet tops in the kitchen. He dozes on top of the cabinet above the refrigerator. I wish I'd had the camera yesterday when only the top of his head was showing. The dark ears on either side of the lighter curve of his head. ... ^O^ ...Like this except the "O" would be a semi circle.

aaaawww.... it must be pretty cool in NM. In the summer heat, my cat goes under things. But now that it's cooling off, he's become sun-spot-cat again....
