People tell me I look good. I see only weary eyes. Still not thin. But a lot thinner. Amazing as it may seem, this is not something I think about these days--at all.

Mikey still knows me--a mixed blessing.

I lived most of my life thinking that cats were some kind of vile beast - the 'bad' pet - and dogs were the 'good' ones. It wasn't until I married someone with a cat that I had to get to know one, and then I started to like them. I've had my two long haired black domestics Joe and George for over 4 years now, and they mean a lot to me.

I'm still a dog person, but now I'm a cat person too.

Snood, I too grew up as a dog person. It took a mouse to get me interested in cats. The first cat I got I took in as a business arrangement--You take care of the mice; I'll feed you. I was hooked in less than a day. Cats are very different from dogs. Not better or worse. Just different--and wonderful in their own way.

I love dogs, too. (shhhhhhh, don't tell the doggie person! ) but have always had a cat or 3 underfoot since about age 2. I guess I just know their ways better. Gosh their so smart! Very Happy

If cats are so smart, why can't you teach them anything?

Just sent Mom some recent pictures of Stanley and hopefully, she'll post them here since I still don't know how to do it.

The little guy is in a precarious position ~ I have got to find him a new home. I simply cannot take care of him or afford to get him his shots and have him neutered, never mind that he is driving Lacey up a wall. And Lacey is my baby. My best girl.

Stanley is my roommate's cat, and she has deserted him. Thankfully, if I can't find him a home, we do have a local shelter that does not euthanize animals.

Obviously, I'd rather find him a good home to go to. He is so lovable. Crying or Very sad

poor Stanley

Misti what a view! that's fantastic.

Roberta, echoing the others, I hope the bad times end sooooon and life looks up.

Paddy dislocated his hip just over a month ago but is now doing fine, it wouldn't stay in place so he now has a limp (for life) but it isn't stopping him from climbing the high railings alongside our garden (at least 8ft tall, maybe 9) which have climbing roses, honeysuckle and stuff growing up them - he waltzes along the top and sometimes snoozes up there Rolling Eyes

It's HOT here at the moment so they are both flaked out in the shade, we've got all the windows and doors open and the fans on full blast.

I've been offline for nearly a week 'cos himself cut through the phone line while massacring the climbing roses Rolling Eyes They've just fixed it Very Happy

Hey Cat people.

Any body know if I can use Visine for temporary relief for my cat until I get them their usual eye drops?

My cat keeps scratching her eye, which I have eye drops for, but she is at my brother in laws house why we are trying to sell our house. We can't get down to drop off the eye drops until the 19th so I was thinking Visine might be a good temporary relief. It isn't an every day thing... they would probably have to use it 3 or 4 times until the 19th.

I don't know, but I would be VERY cautious.

I would ring your vet and ask,.

Cold black tea is a great substitute eyewash.

So...my Oscar is officially on his last paws......

He has a cough which has become chronic.

We can keep it somewhat at bay with antibiotics and steroids, but less and less so as time goes on.

I am now on the watching whether he is happy and comfortable thing, and will make the decision when he indicates that his happiness is affected.

He has perked up again with some new antibiotics, so it is watch and wait.

Schniff.
