Miranda to vet today....needed her kidneys checked.

Also, I thought she was going downhill..seemed thinner to me...and a bit of a cough.

Weight same as last time, which is good. Vet thinks the odd cough is just a result of scar tissue on her lungs.

Hoping kidneys show up as ok in her bloods, as, if she is starting that downward spiral, I don't want to stress her by leaving her for six weeks.

I insisted on staying with her when her blood was taken because last time she had a full blown panic attack....collapsed in the car on the way home and I thought she was dead, until I could pull over and check her properly!

She was fine this time.

Crossing fingers for kidneys!

I'm very glad to hear that, Deb.

It sounds like she's been pretty good, heath-wise, for quite some time now?

Fingers firmly crossed here, too!

@msolga,
Dear little thing...she's still very happy. Has been quite flirtatious lately....lots of bottom in my face and throaty cries!!!

16 in November...we hope!

If her kidneys are bad, I have a tough decision to make.

I don't want her to be in boarding when she dies.

Wrong species...wrong gender....I guess love is love though.

I have pretty much decided not to board her with my friends.

I just think 6 weeks is too long....what with getting pills down her and all.

Also, although the bloke in the relationship is a pushover for cats, he's also a stubborn bastard, and I am worried she will be expected to spend too much time outside. She'd love warm Spring days...but she's too old and timid to cope, I think, if K decides to go against my wishes.

She'll be staying in a cattery while you're away, Deb?

I am thinking of her staying with my vet again...for the reasons I posted above after you posted!

Vet said she is happy there...very curious, very chatty, very smoochy.

Vet staff said no discount for length of stay, but vet herself said today she would give a discount.

@dlowan,
Excellent arrangement in the circumstances, Deb. (sorry, I missed your earlier comment on boarding.)

What a wonderful vet! Very generous of her.

Miranda smooches the vet, too! Smile
